I agree Scarecrow, don't use cheap materials when doing custom jobs. Just because you have some extra RC car wiring kicking around, does not mean that it can handle the high current draw. I usually use 12 - 16 gauge stereo wiring and silver battery tabs.

On another note, DO NOT REMOVE YOUR FUSES!!! This is the stupidest thing you can do. My M16A2 comes with a 15 amp fuse. I have to use restricted current batteries or else the mechbox (470 fps) will draw over 15A and blow the fuse. This is why you will see retailers like RedWolf removing fuses on their custom jobs... Airsoft engines can handle higher amp draw but it will greatly reduce their lives. If you remove the fuse, instead of the fuse bridge burning out, it could be you mechbox wiring or even you motor coil wiring... If you desperately want a high draw battery, then up your Fuse, don't remove it...

Yeah... Burned myself a few times actually, have to be careful there...
Luckily, I was extremely careful of the polarities... Yes. I know. I did short circuit it, but that was differnet.

DEFINATELY get connecters, I've done without them... not a good idea though, waste of perfectly good electrical tape each time.

For me, this battery is only temporary, and I do have some connecters coming on Friday and a G&P battery near Christmas.
