just remember guys when upgrading a V1 mech box the gearing and motor are very unique and are not ment for high torque applications. What this means is you can not go to too heavy of a spring. With the motor that is in there you can not easily swap it out for a different one as its the only mechbox that actually uses that size TMK.
As for the lipo you really don't need it in these guns, they already shoot fast enough and you would never be able to fit a spring that would require that much juice, with out extensive mods of course. Just stick to the large batteries.... besides with a lipo up front its going to mess up the balance of it, and not to mention bounce around unless you secure it some how. |

I got a 110, 100 and a 90 spring. I get 20 fps more for each spring upgrade. Something else must be wrong. what do you think it could be?
I changed the piston and the head, still got the same results. Quote:

Well if you're not firing over 350 with a 110 spring installed than check your piston head seal, check your cylinder head seal, check your air nozzle seal, and check your airnozzle to hopup seal. If all seals are good you will shoot 350+ with a 110

Thanks for the info.
How do you check the different seal problems? The piston in the cylinder I know. But for the rest do you have any suggestions? Thanks

The V1 mechbox and EG560 aren't designed for powerful springs. I'd suggest an MS90 at the most. The FA-MAS performs amazing shooting around 330.

Thanks for any help.

All you should need is an MS90 spring, a bushing set, grease set, and shim set. And a lot of patience. I never took my FAMAS apart, but apparently it's a complete bitch.

Taking down and upgrading a FAMAS is one of the biggest pain in the asses I've ever done...
I've been working on the same one for literally about... 4 months... I wouldn't suggest ever opening a FAMAS mechbox, buy a PDI 6.01 barrel, PDI FAMAS outer barrel, a good hop-up rubber and a KA silencer adapter (so you can put a decent barrel on there.. the stock one is too wobbly for my tastes) |

The wobble is actually easy to fix with some electrical tape.
I really wish TM would remake the FA-MAS with something like a V6 mechbox.

Yes, I do too.
The first time I saw what a V1 mechbox looked like.. it was an instant "WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT?!" |

When I got mine it was already upgraded, so I never had the "pleasure" of working on one. I do miss that gun though. A new proper version would be awesome.
