FPS means nothing.

Barrel length, build quality, the quality of the inner barrel, quality of the hop-up, and the quality and weight of the BB's is what makes the difference.

Almosty any gun can be a good outdoor gun. Personally, for outdoor, I prefer something with a long barrel like a G36, M16, G3, or bullpup (AUG, L85, FAMAS). However many people use M4 varients.

In Japan they play with a 1J limit (~330 FPS). Also note the SRC M933 is a Gen2 which isn't that great but for the price you get it for it's "OK" (according to a member at Arnies Airsoft). I would really go with a Gen3 SRC but that's just me (keep in mind that I am also a student and need to pay rent and stuff and I am willing to save up for a "higher quality" gun).

ive heard the src m933 is version 2 not 3 like the rest ( im not talking mech box type im talking series)

ive always played with long barreled guns (g36 and ak) but many people use m4 type weapons as kalnaren said

Someone is going to say this eventually so I will.

Find out who the Age verification rep is in your area and get AV'd, then browse the Classifieds a little, find a few guns that are to your liking and in your budget, do a little research, reviews etc. Go from there.

Your choices are astronomical in the classifieds, especially if you are looking for an M4/16 variant.

Personally I'm not an armalite person myself, and I use an MP5 for outdoors, so literally any gun can be used outdoors all depending on what you are comfortable with!
