Duster - Need a spoon here, folks.

So, I've searched this site and have read what I could.

I've done the same with google.

Now then, from what I understand, my shiney new GBB will shoot PC duster, but NOT the kind I will commonly find at Staples or the like.

I need an adapter to get it from the can into the mag and,

It will shoot a little lighter than propane, but will still act as a decent propellant.

I also understand that I need a pure silicone oil to lube everything up every time I play.

Is all of this correct?

If so, where do I find the PROPER duster?

First timer (for GBB's) here folks - be nice.

Just hit up your local computer store. Buy 134a, aka "Super Duster".

What kind of gun do you have? TM's and most GBB's can run propane fine.

Edit: If it's the KJW like you're talking about in your other thread, ONLY use propane in it, especially if it has a metal slide.

Welcome to the very addictive world of GBB's!

As Styrak said, we really do need to know make/model to give you proper advice. Most TM's should be gtg out of the box for propane (ran my p226 for three seasons no problems), but there are some manufacturers that design their pistols exclusively for duster and they can't handle propane.

Read the fine print on the back, usually found within the warning label, it'll state the product contains either diflouroethane, or tetraflouroethane. Di is weaker than tetra, so go for the tetra which is actually the 134a. You can also use electronics 'freeze spray', is the same stuff, but you'd have to fill your mags right side up to get the liquid in. Difference is in the internal straw, duster doesn't have one so it only spits out the gas when upright, but upside down spits out the liquid. Freeze spray is meant to spit out the liquid while thhe can is held upright, but upside down it spits out only the gas.

Most of the pistol nowadays are propane ready even most of WA pistol like SCW 2 and SCW 3 model, both of model are propane ready aswell, you might want to change a strong recoil spring and hammer spring but it's not necessary to run propane since their slide already reinforce for propane.

I run my WA pistol from the day one on plastic and it's still working as a charm, unless you have a rare pistol from WA or KSC then you might want to use duster due the discontinue parts for them.

Let us know what pistol you have then we can give you clear answer.

AFAIK It's hard to find the proper duster at retail stores nowadays.

Industrial computer suppliers/warehousers will be able to supply you with this stuff but other than that most of the retail stores (Future Shop, BB, Staples, Costco etc.) that sell duster sell the wrong stuff.

You're probably better off with just running propane in your GBB unless it's imperative that you run duster (like KND said for rare pistols that you can't find replacement parts for).

It's the KJW G23, metal slide.

I'll just use propane.

Yeah, you don't want to use duster with a metal slide. It will have pathetic performance.
