Question Gun for a noob

I'm new to airsoft and want to get good beginners gun, but am unsure of what to buy. I'm not really into modern weapons, so a WWII rifle, or similar would be good.

If you are in to ww2 check out the ww2 group here:

http://www.ontarioairsoftwwiireenactors.com

Come out and see us at the airsoft convention in February if you are near Toronto.

first .... let us know where you live and not " Why would you want to know" ...
WWII guns are not for beginners because their accessories and internals are a bit harder to find than
common guns like m4 ... ak's ... mp5 ...

+1 Ayashifx. Especially the first part.

Gospelnut - it is fortuitous that you put in your profile "Location: Why do you want to know?" - because it is very important would be the simple answer. All kinds of newbie questions that I see (and have asked myself) on this forum are location dependent for the answers. You can see that by some of the answers to your very question. Also note that every one who answered your question has their location in their profile.

Oh, welcome to the sport.

Yes WWII kit is hard to come by and expensive and not good for much else. Most people recommend the MP5/AR15/AK47 route for beginners because there are more brands to choose from, more parts to replace broken ones, more upgrades ect.

It is like going to buy your first car and you have the choice between a 2005 Honda Civic/some other generic brand car, or a 1969 Camaro. Everybody would like to have the Camaro but replacement parts, servicing it? That's a bitch. This is just in relation to a weapon you might be able to get on the classifieds once your verified.

tl;dr Get age verified and research WWII kit and modern kit.

The M1A1 thompson is fairly easy to find, I believe there are a few companies making it now, Also the mp40 is becoming more popular.

But as its been said like a retarded man beating a dead horse with a shoe, get AVed.

*note* in the making of this message no horses were actually beaten, how ever we did accidently hit a cat, but those arn't real animals anyways.

Also, go to a game first and try out some different guns, etc. before you spend big bucks.

He was joking Not yet available as a "whole" yet in canada ... only a few members modified or customized it.... but it costed them a lot of arms lol.

Ontario has A LOT OF games, so go to one and try out the Tokyo Mariu Thompson M1A1 ... there'll be always a player who is really WWII oriented hehe , it's a really solid gun (real wood and full metal) Weights pretty nicely. You can get REAL nice WWII packages in "age verified" section.

It'll cost what the market will bear. If that's an issue for you wait a few months after the release and folks that snapped up the first ones will be selling them used to get the next big thing.
