SRC - G36C Silencer.
Hey guys,
First off.. Just wanted to let you know, I've been lurking around to try to find an answer for this question. I bought an SRC G36C a week ago, And I'm looking for a silencer for it. Does anyone have an 'SRC' Specific G36C, and know if an M4/M14 flash hider will fit on the outer barrel of the G36C? Because I found silencers for those that look good, and should be fairly functional. Also, I was at Capital Airsoft and tried the 'Troy' style' silencer that Jeff had, But it seemed like the threads on the silencer were too big, or the threads on my outer barrel were too small..?? And this is the reason I wanted to use the M4/M14 flash hider, Since it should screw on, then if it has a set screw to hold it in place, I'll use that to keep it tight. If not, then I'll be drilling and threading. Unless some other people are having some issues with SRC's Barrel threads? I was looking at these silencers: (And wasn't really looking at any other styles. I've gone through most and picked out the style I want.) Choices: (In order of 'Want'.) 1. http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/accessori...cer-m4-dc.html 2. http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/accessori...4-cqb-spc.html 3. http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/accessori...14mm-both.html / http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1310 4. http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=474 Just wanted to know which would be the best idea for my G36C. Not really concerned on price, As long as it fits, fits my style, and is SOLID on the gun itself. <-- Main concerns. If anyone has any constructive input, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Trev.

I was also looking at this silencer, http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/gandp-kni...r-14mm-cw.html, But the threads are CW. But that would be the style I would want, Something I could take the silencer off with ease, and still have a decent looking flash hider, Not like the flash hider even matters to me.. But I just want the silencer to be held on fairly secure. And not sag so that the BB's have a chance at hitting the inside of the silencer.

If you don't want the sag you mentioned, then stay away from QD silencers. Stick with threaded barrels that screw right onto the barrel.
About the fitting issue, if your unsure of the size of your threading try looking it up or measuring yourself. I think they are 14mm but I may be wrong. Once you find out your sizing for the threads go from there and find a corresponding suppressor sizing. |

Hey there,
I am not sure about SRC but all G36 should have their flash hider GLUED crazily. You might rip off the barrel before your rip off the flash hider..... Try removing it (in CA, theres no screw or anything, it's glued with some crazy glued , try heat gun or boiling water). Then , look for a barrel thread adapter (All G3 series has no threads so you NEED an adapter) http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=5401 for example. Then look for any suppressors of your choice Importing suppressors is 50/50 .... canada has the right to seize it.

ummm...not all g36 flash hiders are glued on.It is however, friction mounted (no grub screw). Some U.S. imported guns will have the flash hider glued on to prevent you from removing the orange tip but g36's in general do not have glued hiders.i've got a kwa and a ca g36 and they are both 14mm ccw. I'm guessing the flash hider you saw from jeff was a 16mm.

Arn't suppressors classed as prohibited? Ie, 100% siezed if they open the package...

Buy a silencer from airsoftparts.ca
Heads up though, many silencers will not fit the G36c because the outer barrel ends somewhere inside the handguard. In order to get one that fits, either buy a thin silencer, or buy the King Arms silencer adapter for the G36. It should let you use any silencer you want.

I know the Threads are Counter Clockwise Threads, That's not really what I was asking..
I just wanted to know if some M4 Stuff would fit on the end. Sorry, I wrote this post when I was REALLY tired. I just re-read it, and I realized I didn't make much sense. It's not a problem about it not fitting by the hand guard piece. Worst comes to worst, I'll cut it out for the silencer to fit. I was Mainly looking for something that would be SURE to thread on, and be fairly solid. And some of those M4 Silencers with the flash hider *look* decent. This: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/accessori...cer-m4-dc.html Looks like it would fit perfectly, While threading on to the existing outer barrel, and still pushing the silencer out a bit to clear the hand guard. BTW, The Flash hider on the SRC G36C has a set screw, and it's threaded on. It's very easy to remove. And when in stock form, It's solid. I wanted the same results with a silencer.

here's some pictures of the outer barrel and flash hider.
You can see where the set screw touches and whatnot.. I just wanted to know if anyone elses flash hider is a little loose in stock from without the set screw tightened down? They are 14mm CCW threads, and the silencer I tried out screwed on kinda crappy like the stock flash hider does. So, I was just thinking; If I could use an M4 Flash hider and a QD Silencer, it would be fairly solid.?

aka SNK or Shaniqua

G36 barrel threads are pretty crappy from my experience. Their tolerances seem to be a little off from 14mm and I've always had issues with silencers not really staying on unless they were the set screw kind or I added a layer of tape.
I believe it may be because the threads are not complete and that the top and bottom are actually flush at a lower level and not threaded.

If it goes on too loose without the allen/set screw, perhaps you can add those teflon tape for hoses?

the KA silencer you linked looks nice, but its generally not a good idea to import silencers from out of country. They tend to get siezed.
Just buy one at Airsoftparts.ca they have a nice collection. I actually bought this one http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1134 it has a slight extension on the end, fit my G36c without any modification

The best QD silencer I can recommend you is the Madbull Gemtech G5.
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=507 It uses a special flash hider and can be installed or removed in a few seconds. Plus the markings on the silencer are correct for a G36. (Right caliber etc.) There is a set screw on the flash hider too. You will need to have at least 1/2" clearance behind the flash hider because you have to push the silencer in, turn 1/4 turn and release to lock it in place. That might be enought. If not, you can find some longer on ebaybanned.com http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1002 Also, if you use a silencer that directly treads on the barrel, your won't have any slop as long as you tighten it properly. I have used some KA 25$ silencers on various G36s before and it held well. The set screw is there to align the flash hider anyways, to make sure that whatever the treads start or end, you can place the hider aligned and tighten the set screw to lock it there.
