Double sight set ups
Hey ASC
I have seen many set ups throughout the years with double sights, mounted one after another. RDS + RDS, RDS + EOtech, etc. I have always wondered what the benefit of this is. Thanks, -MoreToasties |

They are never dual sights. Its generally an RDS with a magnifier. They usually have the magnifier on a flip-to-side mount, so that they can use the RDS/holosight normally, with 0 magnification, or with 4x magnification at their leisure.

Ah.
That would be great to have on an M4, can you link me to a magnifier? I wasn't aware they even existed in airsoft. |

Great. Thanks man.
I was watching the FutureWeapons episode on the Masada and they showed that with an Eotech. I like the look =P although it would probably be very functional as well. I think I'll talk to Huang and get one and a 553. BTW, whats the deal with the Masada coming out? I remember someone was making one (King Arms, maybe?). Is that out yet? |

okay I'm a total noob, but I'm wondering, wouldn't it be better to have the RDS BEFORE the magnifier? that way you would have a small red dot and your scope after it, instead of magnifing the RDS also, and see a big ass red dot in your scope??? lol I don't know much about those, its just my first thought when I saw that... |

It's important for the reticule image to scale up with the magnification if it provides any ranging or lead information, like the new EOTechs. I'm curious why most adjustable magnification scopes don't do this, but rather just set the mil-dot scale to be accurate at only a particular magnification...

Personally, I do Rear Iron-sight, open-style reflex RDS, Front Iron-sight. I used to just use the RDS and the front sight, but when I tried adding the rear sight to the mix, it just added a little more precision.
And, it looks bad-ass, of course.

@ Mr. G36!
Geez, I'm so behind the airsoft times. I've only ever used a bare RDS. Does iron sights + RDS help with aiming? I would think, if the red dot is on target, you're gonna hit it, whether the iron sights are there or not. However, I really only have experience with bare iron sights or a good scope. =P Educate me! This is why I love this forum. |
