Wassup,

Is the Tokyo Marui Steyr AUG A2 a good airsoft to buy?
At what price will it be.
Is there a frequent problem with that type of airsoft?

For price 400-500$ range, you can get a fully equipped TM Aug A2 with mags and with a bit of upgrades... just deal with the sellers. They will sell it at lowered price for sure. I'm not comfortable with bullops guns , i just can't reload properly with them , not use to it maybe. The AUG's looks small but when using it, it feels very solid and big. It's a great CQB gun but can be upgraded to be great on ranges too Overall a great gun if you want to be different from the others. butt stock is large enough to hold bigger batteries. Only issue you might encounter is losing the buttstock pad .... and i think its automatic only?

You are quite badly informed..

AUG can store a moderate sized battery with a simple mod. It cannot hold large battery. However, after the modification it is VERY suitable for a LiPo battery pack in the ranges of 3000-3500mAh (11.1v, more when 7.4).

It uses a V3 mechbox which is VERY reliable.

It is a large gun. Overall length is the same as an M4 with extended stock. The innerbarrel is the same length as an M16 or AK-47.

Realoading is VERY easy when you get the hang of it. Best way is to lift the rifle in the air, nozzle up. This will place the magwell right under your trigger hand. Remove or insert the magazine and lower the rifle to shoot. Insert the front of the mag first, then press in until it clicks. If you don't insert the front first, the magazine will hold for a few seconds and drop to the ground. This is because of the friction of the mag catch.

The AUG has a two-stage trigger. It means that you will feel some resistance up to half travel of the trigger. Then more resistance will be felt for the rest of the travel. When you reach that step, the gun will fire once. You can keep pressing it for automatic fire or release and press again for semi-auto. With a bit of practice, you can achieve very fast semi fire and transition from semi to auto without any delay.

The magazines are larger than M4 magazines, but smaller than G36 magazines. This can cause some issues with tight pouches. You can fit two in a STANAG double pouch IF IT HAS SOME ELASTICS to let the pouch expand. The best thing is to use more pouches or use triple pouches and insert two.

And you are much better informed, but I still have to correct you

The AUG has the same length inner barrel as an M16, 509mm. The AK47 has a 455mm inner barrel.

The AUG is really one of those rifles you should try before you buy....unless you just must have it no matter what because it's on the latest video game cover.

To me...it feels very stretched out...like you're always reaching for something. It doesn't suite me for CQB. The front barrel can be swapped for a very short one...but the butt/stock of it is always going to be big and fixed.

It's very comfy though if you needed to carry it for long periods of time.

Some airsoft versions are loose...others lock up tight as a drum. There's little tweaks you can do to tighten things up.

They're very easy to work on if you need to fiddle with the mechbox/hopup.

Personally...I hate the trigger. I just can't get used to the semi-to-full auto trigger pull. If there was more resistance switching from semi to full...that'd be ok, but I haven't noticed much with the ones I've tried.

Swapping mags just takes getting used to.

Forget decent iron sights...you're going to be optics only on this one. For some, that's not a big deal....for me that means trouble since the RDS battery is always dead because I'm a dummy and leave it on.

I had a JG AUG A2 , had it for 20mins and got rid of it rightaway so I'm not that technical on it, just first impressions. Its not a gun for everyone.

When i played with one it felt like a pillow in comparison to an ak and the acuracy is incredible for its lentgh a trait that all bullpups share . just the styling isn't for me i would rather take a l85 or famas in the bull pup to bad l85 are so hard to find and famas only model is realy old someone needs to make a full metal one with a new gear box that pump out 1200 rpm and has single 3- round burts and full auto on it oh and uses stagnag mags : )

I had an Aug. Loved it. Very comfortable, easy to reload, excellent durability and reliability. I enjoyed it a lot. Im thinking about going to the Civ version so I can add my own sights and include a BUIS.

I've never seen a bullpup in person, is the sight rail offset? I can't tell from pictures.

I'm a lefty and I'm hoping the scope on rail isn't offset to the left side of the gun.

EDIT: nvm, found a video review and it showed it from the top

does the gun come with a scope though? if not, what magnification would be worth it? not sure what would be best, but not overkill for it
a guy above mentioned "adding your own scope"...does the military version have a non-removable scope or something?

AUG A1 has an integrated 1.5X scope. A2 has a rail in place of the scope so you can add your own optic. Scope or red dot type is up to you and where you play.

the A1 is the the ultimate weapon. plus it has NO rail, which is pretty cool.

I've owned a TM AUG A1, the scope is alright, the construction is beautiful, mechbox is very good.

With the scope, you won't beable to use it if you have goggles... or atleast I couldn't use them while having goggles on.

The only beef I had with the AUG was that, I couldn't find any mags locally and that sometimes the mags wouldn't feed properly, cause either it was not in "all the way" or just randomly wouldn't work.

That's my 2 cents, sorry for the generalities... don't really know what to say lol
