G&G GR16 A3 PDI 150% & 140% spring upgrades
I have purchased a few PDI springs for my G&G GR16 A3 and have had an opportunity to chronograph two of the PDI springs as well as the gun from stock. Before I give the results I will first mention that the gun is in nearly stock form with the exception of a few upgrades. I have replaced the stock battery pack to a 9.6v Elite large type cell 4000nimh battery pack from cheapbatterypacks.com and converted the gun over to Deans Ultra connectors. The only other upgrade is a Guarder hop-up bucking. One reason I upgraded the battery pack was that with the stock battery my G&G came with I was only able to get one full 68 round magazine before it lacked energy, and it would not fire rounds consistently, or at all.
Stock gun, before deans conversion and battery conversion was chronographed with a .25g BB at 315fps. I did not have .20g bb's with me at the time.
Gun with modifications mentioned above with a PDI 140% spring and .25g BB shot 335fps, and with a .20g BB shot 385fps.
Stock gun before Deans conversion and new battery PDI 150% spring and .25g BB shot 383fps, and with .20g BB shot 425fps. With this setup with the stock battery I was only able to get 68rounds to a battery before serious feed issues began.
