Er, a 12v battery will pretty much kill any airsoft gun.

But, if you really must:
A new, heavily reinforced mechbox shell (I know CA ones are good.. but still..)
New piston
New piston head
New cylinder head probably wouldn't hurt either
New tappet plate
A heavier spring (a lighter one won't return forward all the way before the sector gear comes back around)
New spring guide

Probably some other stuff I'm missing.

Why do you want to run a 12v?

You're looking at a lot of money to make a sustainable high-ROF gun, especially one in a Version 2 mechbox. You'd be better off running a 9.6v. A CA mechbox will take one of those stock (with a new polycarb piston) and will give you a fire rate around 15 rounds per second, which is higher than what the real steel one shoots.

I should also mention that most games won't let you use an assault rifle like a machine gun. So if you're planning on hosing with hi-cap magazines, you might want to rethink your upgrades. The money would be better spent on things like a new hop-up, tightbore, etc.

Ok, and how about a 10.8v?

9.6 is more than enough. This isn't paintball, ROF isn't the end all be all thing to have, and neither is FPS.

This being said, 9.6 is a nice voltage. Pretty much every AEG I have has one installed.

man, i ran a JG m4 sir , totally stock on 11.1v lipo, and stripped the piston.but. that was after around 20,000 shots. and i bought the gun used.....so you can imagine it had miles on it already...... that jG v2 gearbox is pretty beefy (has metal bushings)as is....that was just aour experience, and i dont believe all gearbox's are created equal.

9.6v is more than enough for gaming purposes. All "spray and pray" will accomplish it pissing off everyone else you play with.

That being said, you can run one if you want. What I said previously about upgrades still stands.
