Refreshments, reloading, etc... during game
Ok I am going to my first game this saturday, and I would like to know how this works normally. Is there water there, or should I bring myself a few water bottles?
Can I go back to my car during the game to get water/food? Can I go back to my car to reload my mags? I only have 5 mid caps, and don't want to have a bag with me that would rattle every-time I move. Is there a lunch break? Damn I hate being a newb. |

There is no standard way of running a game. Best to ask whoever is hosting the game you'll be attending.

I usually carry some snacks, protein bars, and water in my chest rig. Lots of pockets.

I usually have beef jerky or granola bars, plus a lot of water. better safe than sorry even if the event you are going to has a BBQ or supplying food.
I have only drained a 3.5L hydration pack once last year, but it was about 35 degrees out and no clouds in sight at the old Flag Raiders. edit: forgot that it was in addition to the free gatorade at lunch and at least a couple of gatorades I had brought in the car for myself and a few others Last edited by coach; July 30th, 2009 at 19:52.. |

I bring a Camel pack filled with water, and a spare in the car, and some crackers stuffed between the bladder and the pack in a sandwich bag of course, you dont need to eat till your full or you'll soon learn that in decreases your battle effeciency. eat a lunch before and snack a little bit just to keep those food cravings away, you'll only be paying attention to water while gaming, you'll only notice that you may want to eat during a break. but don't be one of those morons who just stands there and eats an apple during a game or I'll shoot it into sauce. and you don't wanna choke

Take a bring enough water, food and stuff for yourself. Don't rely on getting anything at the game (sometimes it's just too busy...othertimes it's rot-gut hotdogs that'll give you the shits). Throw a case of water and a roll of TP in the trunk...trust me. Pass out the water at the end...guys will really appreciate it (don't share the TP....LOL).
A bag of bbs, loader and a little screwdriver kit is easy to pack in a knapsack. Either take it with you....or leave it at base. 99% of the time we end up carrying everything around all day with us...not a big deal. |

I find usually carrying 2 bottles of water directly on you is enough. You don't down a bottle of water when you're thirsty. Just drink enough to prevent dry-mouth. Some people carry a backpack with essentials in it. Personally, I have a vest with a radio holster and an auxiliary pouch. They each hold one water bottle for me. If you have more mag pouches then what you use, shove a bottle in there instead.
Things like BBs, a speedloader, screwdriver kit, etc, I'd suggest buying an ammo box for. Carry the ammo box to your base and leave it there. Don't forget it, obviously, when returning to the clubhouse or whatever. Usually other people will leave their accessory gear at your team's spawn as well, and it'll get picked up if you forget anyway. The only thing I'd suggest carrying on you aside from things like small food and beverage is the speed loader. Sometimes when you're in the middle of a fire-fight, I find that speedloader gives you about 1.5-4 mags (depending on your speedloader size), and saves your ass. Although, it rattles. can be bad :\
