underage airsoft ownership issue important

hey ASC, im new to this forum as you can probably guess but i have done my homework (recently) and i feel like i have to get something off my chest. Well here it goes, last year while i was paintballing at BYOP i was getting really frustrated with paintball. You know how it is, paintball is not very realistic or acurate or anything so i asked my dad if i could get a pellet gun, my dad thought that at 13 it was way to young for a pellet gun, but he said that he would look for a safe alternative for target shooting. We went to our Canadian tire and there i saw these clear looking guns called airsoft. I purchased a cheap pistol and starting playing around with it, it broke after a while so i looked for something else. One day at school my friend and i were talking about my ghillies which i had been using for paintball, when the subject came out about airsoft. We started playing with plastic guns from Walmart at his cottage in the states. After a while of this my friend said that he got a m4, i asked where he got it from, he said that it was a from airsoft GI, so we went on it together and i ended up buying a sniper rifle, man i was so pumped. He brought it back to canada, (we purchased it from the states) and i brought it to my cottage in nova scotia, i shot at targets for a few months untill i got bored. About a month ago i was on the internet looking for tips on a new ghillie when i came across this website, i was shocked that there were a lot of people playing airsoft. I started reading the FAQ's and read forums. It soon became clear that what i had done was illegal and that if anyone here found out i had a airsoft gun i would be called a stupid little kid and that i would be banned from airsoft. Well i tried to mask myself as a kid who had no idea about the guns or anything by posting a thread about good starter guns. But i just felt bad about the whole thing so thats why im telling everyone on airsoft canada that i made a big mistake by buying this gun and that i do fell bad and im very happy that the police did not see me with it. I just want to let people know that i have one and i asking if people can help on this issue, please any help would be greatly apreciated. Also if i am flamed for being stupid or immature im okay with that, this is my falt. thank you for reading this.

well, just keep that one since it's already in country but don't plan to buy a new one. It's just your luck that you were be able to make it cross border.

Do you mind if I ask you what kind of sniper rifle that you owning right now ?

well if it's cost you 300 USD then I would it's maruzen since UTG is cheap clone in the state worst less than 100 bucks.

Just another head up, Do not bring that gun to any public space like school, hospital, mall ..etc or anywhere where public could see your toys and make sure that your backyard is close up anywhere from public view.

Text ≠ speech, please learn to structure your rants using punctuation and paragraphs.

Also, cut the long and useless run-on sentences, I have no idea what exactly is the question you're asking in that huge mess.

You're asking for help, on what? Getting rid of the gun? Places to play?

Well.. if you plan on keeping it, save your money, and over the years you can persue upgrading it. The L96 is an expensive gun to maintain and upgrade. Once you're 18, you'll have a properly upgraded gun, you can get age verified, and one day possibly attend a sniper clinic.

..I definitely don't suggest anyone do what you did though, as it is illegal, and generally a bad thing.

your in a grey area here. you already own the gun so you may either sell it to a verified person or if you plan on playing, hold on to it, but you wont be able to play untill your 16 at least, and even so, most fields may not allow you to do so. your best bet is to get involved with a club so when you do become able to play you can do so without predjudice.

It is a good gun. Lots of upgrade parts available. If you spend enough on the upgrades and install and tune them well (or get a gun doc who has experience with your gun), it can be an incredible gun. However, when it does come time for you to play, I would suggest getting a normal-sized AEG to play with. It is the best thing to start playing with and to learn with, because it gives an idea of the standard type of play. Trying to start off with a bolt-action is not much fun, and you won't learn much. An AEG would help you learn better.

May I ask how you got from nova scotia to the states and back? isnt their water between the two? so wouldnt you have to fly? if so, you should be bragging that you got a full sized sniper rifle past both US and canadian customs haha!

well you got it, and its here now, I'm sure your not the only one who (inadvertently for you) smuggled an airsoft gun north of the 49th parallel
