Compatibility Chart

You know, it would be really usefull for us Newbs buyer if there was a compatibility charts of the different brand/model/accessories out there.

Every time I look at something, I have to search to see if it is compatible with my gun.

It could be simple like:

ICS: 80% TM compatible except blabla...
G&G: etc...

Ok ok, this is my last question for the day

From what I understand, most guns are TM replicas, except for the ICS because they use a slightly different design. So, for most brands you will find (again, not ICS), pretty much any parts can be swapped by TM-compatible parts.

Correct me if I am wrong.

for AEGs?

Yes, most brands are compatible with each-other. Except for ICS and Systema.

Also, be aware of the compatibility of some parts between different mechbox versions.

Also, just becuase something is supposed to fit, doesn't mean it will. This is especially true with lower end chineese guns, as they tend to have much lower quality control.

Most online review places (reputable ones such as Arnies) should list the compatibility in terms of upgrades and replacements. But as it has already been mentioned, just because it should doesn't necessarily mean it will. Clone guns don't always get the tolerances down 100% so just browse around and see if anyone has tried using piece ________ in gun ________ and what the success-to-failure rate was.

Also, there is much less cross-compatibility between brands in GBBs, Keep that in mind when shopping for gas gun parts

No, the only AEGs that require their own specific mags are Systema.

That being said, you might have to sand/tape some mags to make them fit right

well, a couple different guns require proprietary mags... Easy way to find out if the gun you want has proprietary mags is to find said gun on www.redwolfairsoft.com and if it's proprietary mags they'll have something telling you.

It's actually kind of a misnomer that ICS is totally different. I actually learnt a few days ago that most ICS parts *should* be compatible with it's TM counterpart, just key parts like the anti-reversal thingy and mechbox aren't compatible.

However as been said just cause it's "supposed" to fit doesn't mean that it will.

Tolerances kind of don't mean a thing in all honesty. Just because one aftermarket part may fit on this doesn't mean that a different aftermarket part will fit on that.

eg. You have parts from companies A, B, and C on your gun Z.

Z may accept A and B together but may not accept A and C or B and C work together but A and B don't. Tolerances are slightly different with different companies. Sure they will fit on a TM but different companies may not play well with each other. It's really best to just stick with one company as much as possible when shopping for aftermarket stuff.

Sorry if that was long winded and if it confused you then don't worry about it.
