What Is A GOOD Sidearm!?

Hey everyone I just wanted some recommendation on a good gas blow back pistol. I tried both the W.E’s and the KJW’s and the cheep pot metal internals broke on me, on the KJW the outer barrel floe right of. I’m getting really tired of this and just wanted to know from your experiences what models and what companies make good quality pistols with quality internals??? :banghead:

Any TM pistol. Best pistols available.

what if I replace the abs slide with a metal slide, would that be a problem with the function?

No. You might want to change the recoil spring out to something stiffer, but the stock one still works.

Also I believe there may be slightly higher gas consumption due to the weight of the metal slide and the extra amount of gas needed to actually cycle the slide but a metal slide + outer barrel should be good, only down side is really just a slightly higher gas consumption.

Also TM and KSC both make good pistols although most people tend to lean towards TM.

Very happy with TM & KSC pistols.

Make sure you can get magazines, a holster, and magazine pouches for what you pick, it's not much of a sidearm if it's not with you at all times and you've only got one mag.

TM Hicapa (4.3 is small, 5.1 is full size)...excellent gas mileage and tons of parts around. Hard holsters fit can be an issue.

TM Sig226. Not my favourite...but only because of how it fits my hand. Otherwise an excellent pistol. Gas capacity is ok, but not as good as the HiCapa. Metal kits aren't the easiest to come by.

TM 1911/MEU. Excellent pistols. Small gas capacity. Metal kits are hard to find, but the plastic holds up really well. Lots of parts around.

Holster sure, but multiple mags isn't really that needed unless you plan to use it as a primary. If it's just a last ditch backup and for plinking then one mag is enough. If you're in an AEG battle and you have to resort to your sidearm, you're in trouble. If you actually need more then one mag you're in big trouble.

I would advise you to avoid Tanaka revolvers, even if it's really fun to battle with a revolver, some essential internal parts are pot metal, which makes those pistols not really fieldable.

Can't comment on TM, but KSC is a very good brand.
