probably a stupid question.

i was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to put a thread on a plastic barrel without destroying it?im on a madly tight budget so im trying to save as much coin as i can by not buyin new barrels and stuff, and doin it all myself,so if anyone has any input i'd be grateful .
cheers,
Hyena

If you're asking, then you probably can't do it. Sorry to sound blunt. :\

threaded outter barrels dont cost THAT much.......If your really on a budget this sport isnt for you.

Example : quality barrel for under 50$ http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=22863

Depends what gun you got.

Making the threads yourself can kill the barrel.
Plus the time you have to do to make the threads.
There is no way you can. You can with a metal one, so why not buy one threaded?

Save your time by buying the threaded barrel.

you'll spend the money on the threading tool and not just a new barrel. what gun do you have btw? I don't know of any company that uses plastic barrels aside from G36s.

Who makes a plastic barreled G36?

Plastic that have been molded into threads will probably crack if you try to change them.

Most of the outer on my G36C is plastic, but the last 2 inches or so (where the treads are) is metal

Hm, not sure about those. I know my CA one has a completely metal outer barrel.

If the OP has a GBB, there is a large chance of the outer barrel being plastic.
