Better to get AV'd to find one on the classifieds. Shootsoft is over priced, plus the shipping, plus the wait.
G&P is one of the great metal bodies. It will fit.
Upgrades should be hop up rubber, and inner barrel.

Yes, receivers are pretty standard and will fit. Shouldn't be an issue. I won't recommend or diss shootsoft. Do a search on the forums for shootsoft and come to your own conclusions and make a decisions.

As for G&G internals, they're pretty good. I suggest you just use the gun with the stock internals to get used to it. You'll be able to tell pretty quickly what, if anything, it needs.

Until then Krylon makes a Flat Black in the Camo line that works great on those nasty clear parts

Well too bad for your son. Seriously he should be thankful for having parents who will even consider buying him a BB or pellet gun (you'll shoot you eye out). Sounds like your son has a bit of "Little Emperor Syndrome" going on there.

Anyways back to the point, meet up with a verifier and do all your stuff. You can ask them questions in person and they should have all the answers for you.

Don't buy anything else until you get verified. Also I hope this isn't just for your son, you should seriously consider playing. If it is just for your son, just a heads up, most verifiers will refuse verification as they want "active players" or collectors in the community not a bunch of parents who get verified and give the gun to their kid and turn their back. It's all fine and dandy to let your kid shoot the gun while supervised in the basement or supervised on the field or whatever but please keep it under lock and key when he's not supervised.

Are you the end user or is it your son? If it's the latter, how old is he?

he is 16 in june.

we will BOTH be using it for target practice, and he will have strict supervision when using it.

you can paint the inside and leave the trademarks untouched.

Don't be, I mean the G&G's are really decent starter guns. If you bothered to check out the reviews, they're practically glowing (for the price point, you do get what you pay for). A can of spray paint will work wonders. To keep the trades on just put some painters tape over the trades go over with the spray paint, take off the painters tape and hand paint then fill in the engravings with some crayon, or put white paint over the trades and quickly wipe it off with a tissue or something, it should fill the trades in and stick then dry.

Also if it's for target shooting, really you should have gotten a pellet gun (eg. Daisy, Anschutz, Hammerli, Air Force, Gamo, Remmington etc.). They are far more accurate.

The competition grade ones can get quite expensive (Anschutz 9001) but even a cheap Daisy model 835 should do the trick. That being said, I hope you have fun with your kid.

You're probably wondering why I know more about pellet guns (especially ISSF grade ones) than I should as this is an airsoft site. Funny story, I never really got into real steel shooting but I'm looking at doing it sometime sooner or later. For now I just have airsoft and pellet guns that fire < 500 FPS.

yea i knew G&G guns are well worth the price, and i will try the the mothod of keeping the markings, but when i paint it should i paint the inside aswell or will it ruin something?

london police tend to destroy my pellet guns, bought one nightstalker kit, they took it. and one glock style crosman gun and they took it as well, i guess its my fault for having bad neighbors :banghead: but they dont do anything about airsoft (so far)

EDIT: what type of krylon? semi or ultra flat black? and how fast will crayon wipe off, or is it so you dont paint the engraving?

What were you doing with the pellet guns that would justify the neighbours calling the police/the police taking them away?

Don't paint inside. Also how are your neighbors seeing your guns? Are you shooting them in the backyard? If you are please, please do not shoot your airsoft in your backyard. Airsoft gets enough bad press with out some neighbor calling 911 because they think you have some kind of military hardware.

This whole idea sounds bad to me. Tell your son to wait 2 years to play airsoft. Go buy him a nerf gun or a supersoker. He may be somewhat responsible but maybe his friends are not and seeing as you have had 2 guns taken away by the cops....buying more sound pretty stupid.
