Semi auto only
I just rebuilt my marui m16, and now the gun will only fire on semi auto. When I was testing the mech out of the gun, it fired fine in both semi and full, but now will only do the former. The safety selector seems to be working fine.

The safety selector is moving fine but is it moving the selector plate completely? Is the cut off lever moving freely?
Did you install any aftermarket parts like gears, selector plates, bushings (can seize up the selector plate if they stick out too far), etc.? |

I had to dremel a little on the plate and bushing hole, to get everything to fit together. I'm using a new box with 7mm bushings.
The only thing I can think of is that the selector isn't bringing the plate all the way to auto. But there doesn't seem to be any extra resistance.

I had this happen on a G&P once. The disk inside the gun that the selector lever rotates actually partly stripped. It would turn backwards (towards safe) no problem but going from semi to auto had just enough more tension to cause the disk to stay at semi even though the selector moved. It felt the same as normal so I never suspected the selector.
It could also be that the selector plate is not interacting with the cut off lever properly. Are the cut off lever, selector plate, and mechbox all from the same brand? |
