newb signing in looking for help selecting a first gun

Ok, so first off, yes, I am a newb. yeah yeah flame away.

So I tend to over analyze everything and in the interest of not driving people up the wall I was looking for feedback with regards to G&G, KWA and CA build quality, whether they have a decent upgrade market and whether they are overall newb friendly.

The only flame here is directed towards trolls, not newbies.

In my opinion, G&G, KWA and CA are generally equal to each other. They each have different strong and weak areas, so it keep any of them from really jumping into a clear lead against the other two. You hear horror stories about lemons for all three. Conversely, they all have their die-hard fans. I really don't consider one more newbie friendly than the other two.

Since they're all derived from Marui's design, they all accept more or less the same aftermarket parts. Tolerances/fit with exterior aftermarket parts may vary, but that's hard to predict without reading through an insane amount of reviews and problem threads.

well, I was looking to identify a brand rather then falling in love with a model and not having a choice (trying to put brains ahead of heart) . I am not looking for an overly specialized weapon. As much as I want a c9/m249 just for the sake of the memories, I don't expect it to be a newb friendly gun.

G&G
GR16 R5
GR300 (long)
Scar

CA
SA58 O.S.W.
Scar (light or heavy, not familiar with the differences)
CA25 URX

KWA (only familiar with the models on mopic's website)
KM4S - Tactical
G36

Big list I know. All things being equal, the scar is my top choice in terms of looks, but I was hoping that one manufacturer being "better" for me would help widdle it down fast.

for scars, vfc is the best! might be hard to find one, as well as expensive, but its a really nice unit!

do not order from that site, it is not in Canada, and it is illegal to import airsoft guns! this site is just for specs and pics

One thing you have to remember about the scar's is the magazines. The light takes standard armalite magazines while the heavy takes larger sr25 style magazines which are harder to come by.

This probably doesn't help with your confusion, but Star and VFC both make the SCAR as well.

Maybe this video will help: http://www.airsoft-news.eu/comment.p...ment.news.2329

Yeah, airsoft machineguns aren't really newbie friendly.

the only way to get high end guns is to get age verified, which involves meeting an age verifier in your area. you will then have access to retailers and classifieds here on ASC
look for members like Hades who have the age verifier tag under their name they can all verify you (must be over 18) find one in your area and message them!

For a G36, I'd go with CA, for the body quality if nothing else. The internals probably aren't any better than KWA but I have yet to see a G36 body better than the one on a Classic Army G36.

awesome link, thanks. It did however take me 2-3 watches to completely understand them. the accidents were a little foreign to me That said, it certainly made the CA scar seem quite interesting. I just need to find a decent write up comparing it to the G&G, but I don't think I can really loose with either one.
