MP5 change?
Quick question, on an MP5 SD5, if you wanted to, could you change the front to a normal hand guard?

To use a regular mp5a5/a4 style handguard you need to replace the whole front end. Cocking tube , frontsite , muzzle and handguard.

There are pretty cheap front end kits available from China brands.

In your opinions, which looks better?

Personally, I don't like the SD look much. I prefer the standard front end with a flashlight grip. But in the end, which WE think looks better is irrelevant since it's your gun.

Very true, but I'm stuck on which one. I almost think the front end on the SD5 is too big compared to the rest of the gun, and I've been in love with the flash-light fore grip but, as a JG gun, which would be better? And does the flash-light grip come with a flashlight? (thought i might ask 8) )

That's what I don't like about the SD models. I think the front end looks too bulky for the rest of the gun. And from the ones I've held, I don't like the feel of the fat grip. If I want a supressor, I have one that I can screw on, and I prefer the look of that anyway.
I bought a CA metal front end for mine and it included the flashlight and all. The flashlight is pretty bright. http://www.warthersoriginalsonline.c...-MP5-A3/Detail Even if you don't get this particular model, you can buy just a front grip with flashlights. There's a cheap one available on ebaybanned (I believe around $35 or so). I think Guarder make one also. My gun started out as a JG, but is now mostly CA on the outside. The only external JG part left is the plastic lower receiver. Internally though, it's 100% stock JG. It went from this... \ to this...

That is disgustingly sexy Where can I get a JG MP5A4? I was planning on buying a SD5 from Bob the Angry Potato but he can't get a A4 so I'm kind of in a jam :/ Are there any retailers that sell JG MP5 A4's?

Unfortunately, you're stuck with whatever is available unless one of the retailers can bring in a special order for you.

I've always had a thing for the SD style but I can also appreciate all other MP5's.
Started out as a UTG with full stock. Since then, the only thing left is the lower receiver which is cracked on the back of the grip. Currently: UTG receiver CA metal upper and metal SD front end TM upgraded mechbox and motor TM tracer unit/suppressor Custom RAS My AGX launcher mounts on the bottom and a light on one of the sides. Regardless of it being an SD or not, I'd still mount a RIS or RAS and mount the flashlight on the side. |

Ok, iv'e decided on the JG MP5SD5, and I'm going to be putting in a tightbore that's 300mm so I use all the length of the gun. Question though. Can I just buy any 300m tightbore and it will fix an MP5? Is the name, like how it says used for M4, M4a1 kinda thing, just referring to the length?
And sorry, no flash-light for me |

with a 300mm, you will for sure need a suppressor to hide it or it will stick out a lot.
what do you mean by 'fix'? unless you mean will it fit, yes it will. They just put gun models beside the length so that people who don't know what length they should get can quickly find one that will fit. I'm debating on throwing a 300 mm in mine but since the suppressor is actually a tracer unit, I don't want the inner barrel to extend past the sensor that triggers the light. My M4 has a 455mm or 509mm TB in there. Doesn't really matter how long it is as long as it doesn't stick out. |

Yes, i meant fit. And I wouldn't need a supressor with the SD5 version would I?
|

The suppressor is built into the SD5 already, so no, you don't need that. All AEGs use the same type of barrel, but different lengths. When they refer to M4, MP5, AK, etc barrel, they just make reference for the length and what gun they're intended for.

No, the 300mm is the longest you can fit in the SD, and if you went with longer, there is no means to attach any type of suppressor to the front end.
