WE HiCapa 5.1 upgrade

Hey guys,
This is my first upgrade so a little guidance on parts would be awesome.

This is what I was looking at upgrading.

- Inner barrel

I was looking at the Tanio Koba Twist Barrel that Illusion is selling. I was told that they work very well in short length compared to tight bores. I would like some more input on that.

- Hop up bucking

Firefly Hop Up Bucking (soft or hard?)
Should I bother replacing the hop up bucking?

- Hammer spring

I can usually go through about a mag and 3/4 before having to refill on gas(even in this cold) so I know it can handle the stronger hammer spring. What spring % should I be looking for?

- is there anything else I should consider replacing while I'm at it?

Thanks in advance!

Skip the new hammer spring. It won't really improve your performance. It's not like a stronger hammer spring will open the valve any wider than it already is, unless you have a defective, weak spring.

I've had good experiences with the TK Twist barrel, so I vote yes. I don't think the hopup sleeve is worth replacing unless you're noticing insufficient or inconsistent hopup effect.

Go with the soft hop up bucking if you're shooting around 1J or less. Go with the Hard one if you're shooting over 350fps.

If you're not using high flow valves, have a 5" barrel and running propane, chances are, you'll be shooting well below 350fps. Stick with the soft one. I personally upgrade all of my hop up buckings to the Firefly one. It's a v-notch type rubber and provides a bit more shot stability over the stock rubbers. I'd recommend it.

I personally use the Twist barrel in all of my own GBBs (except for those that shoot over 1J). It's one of the best upgrades you can get.

Hammer spring... replace it if it comes with the enhanced recoil spring... almost all do, but there are rare instances where they don't. Don't think too much about the rating, as it's not accurate. I have "140%" springs that feel stronger than "150%" springs.
Hammer springs are more of a concern if you're shooting propane on hot summer days. The increased pressure in the magazine will make it harder for the stock hammer spring to crack the valve open.

I have them in stock.

You need Hi-Capa length for a WE Hi-Capa. Marui mount should fit.

do you have an extended one in stock that would be long enough for a barrel extension as well?

If you want an inner barrel to run through the whole length of that, you'll need to:

1) Get a custom made inner barrel
2) Get a VSR-10 inner barrel (they have the same mounts) and chop it down to length
3) Get an inner barrel that's NOT a Tanio Koba Twist. Any inner barrel 162.5mm or longer will push velocities higher than 1Joule and the result will be unpredictable. Twist barrels are for 1J or less.

necessary to run the length of the gun and the extension. but would a twist barrel do better than an extension?
