AK47 metal body - G&P or Cyma?
I have a Kraken that I'm looking to buy a metal body for. I have a line on both a G&P and a Cyma. if cost isn't a consideration what's the better buy? I know the Cyma comes with a metal front set which I don't think the G&P does (?). Also the Cyma has the stock tabs right on the body. I'd heard that G&P uses slot in tabs (though the person I'd heard this from wasn't sure, can anyone confirm?). G&P is the better name but the Kraken is a Cyma rebrand so the Kraken mech box would probably fit better in the Cyma. Would anyone with experence in this area and with these products care to comment?
Thanks, Kuro_Neko |

I like G&P better.

G&P will be made to a MUCH higher standard than Cyma, both in materials and construction process.
Cyma is mid-grade and G&P is top grade. |

Does G&P come with a front set (I think that's what it's called, I think I've also heard it referred to as the gas block)? If it doesn't come with it, do they manufacture them seperately? Does G&P have the stock tabs part of the body or are they slot in ones like the original Kraken body? How do you think the compatibility would be between the Kraken's Cyma gearbox and the G&P body? I can't say about the stock tangs and such, but you should have no problems fitting any AK gearbox, regardless of brand, in a G&P body. I wouldn't worry about compatibility issues at all.

Is there anyone that can comment on the stock tangs or the metal front set? Thanks, Kuro_Neko |

I think the first thing you need to watch out for right now is not the quality of the metal, but the fitment compatibility. It doesn't matter how good the quality is, if you can't use it.

the Cyma does have the stock tabs integrated into the body, very sturdy IMO
the G&P will require the rear stock trunnion that came with your kraken the Cyma bodies, do come with a metal rear sight block, however it really depends on the seller as some sell them seperately and others include it. |

I've yet to hear of any issues fitting a standard AK gearbox into a G&P receiver... G&P are some of the better and less problematic AK receivers on the mainstream market. I'd trust that for compatibility and quality over a CYMA any day.

I'm inclined towards the Cyma for the integrated stock tabs and the metal front set and the fact that Cyma makes the internals as well. It's just I have one of those now and I managed to accidentally do a fair bit of damage to it while installing it. Admittedly I was being an idiot, and I'm totally mechanically inept but still pieces of metal should break off that easily. While I could probably continue to use the one I have, I'm a bit of a perfectionist (also it's a huge reminder of how much of an idiot I was while installing it) so I want to replace it. Thus this thread is born. Thank you to everyone who has responded so far. Edit: I'd love to hear from someone who has personal experience in using a G&P metal body on a Kraken. I know the Cyma one fits (more or less) but I don't really know about the G&P and like Skladfin said, quality isn't going to do me jack if I can't assemble it. Im Using G&P AK47 Metal body. Its a SOLID body, and came with rear stock tangs, top cover, and front trunnion. As for what comes with the body, it REALLY depends on which AK Package u buy from G&P. They have about 10+ different packages with different varients in parts. Some come with the front trunnion and top cover, some dont. Simple matter of the fact is, You have a Kraken. The reality is that the metal body will cost you more than the whole kraken did and quite frankly, its like putting a PTW body on a Jing Gong M4... Whats the point. If you REALLY want quality. Youd do something about the base of the gun. It doesnt matter how pretty it is, if the damn thing cant shoot straight up to 10 meters without breaking down.

G&P does make a metal rear sight block, and in some packages (as DarkAngel said) it does come with the body, however G&P is alot more in terms of price compared to the Cyma, I would suggest getting the Cyma, as it's more cost effective.
