Yes, it'll fit. Those look like mini battery sized cells. Most cranes I've seen use larger cells.

Is there a disadvantage in having a small 9.6v 1400 mah battery as opposed to a larger one?

Considerably less juice. Not really an issue if you're not trigger happy.

Your battery will be loose in the tubes.
You should pad it with non inflamable material (you never know), to prevent rattle and to avoid damage to the battery/wires. Since you have not bought it yet, you really should go with a larger pack. Price is a little higher, but it is worth it. Avoid "too good to be true" deals on ebay (like that one right above). Usually the battery is of lesser grade (think Grade D) than one bought in a specialized shop (onlybatterypacks is good). I have some for sale too if you don't want to mess with buying online and outside of Canada. Brand new from the factory. |

Can I use soft foam so it doesn't rattle inside the stock?
