Taking care of your GBB gun?

Hi, as you can tell, I'm new here and I've recently found this interesting sport and am looking into making it one of my hobbies.

I'm just planning on starting small, and not going into any actual battle scene, just to play around with some friends in my basement etc.

And, I've tried to do as much research as possible before making this thread and getting flamed for being a noob, but anyway, my question is...

I'm planning on buying an airsoft pistol. I have heard that GBB is the preferred type of airsoft pistol, and I just wanted to know if there is a tutorial video on how to properly oil the gun.

I've read the tutorial on the site but I don't trust myself enough to do it without screwing it up, so I was just wondering if any of you guys know of a video tutorial of how to properly take apart and oil the gun (100% silicone oil?)

Thanks.

Alot of it depends on the gun you have as most guns have unique takedowns. Tell us what brand and what type of gun it is and you can get more help.

BTW: Is it me or is that guy in the YouTube video have freakishly pale hands?

Alright thanks guys. I plan to go down to my retailer this week, check out the guns, and do more research on it before I buy it, then I suppose I'll be back with a few more questions with more information.

Edit: Btw, is that really how much you have to take apart your gun for oiling?

That particular pistol works very differently from more common ones. Feld stripping and properly oiling a GBB is a simple process once you do it a few times.

Hey guys, I have another question, and didn't want to make a new thread about it.

I've decided to change my mind but I need confirmation. I saw the Star G36K on redwolf for 180 USD, and I thought that that gun looked pretty decent and that I might get it.

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=20010

I also heard that redwolf overprices its products, so what I'm asking is, is it a reliable gun (I'm not looking for an upgradeability or anything, just out of the box reliability like Tokyo Marui products) and is there a better place to order it from?

Thanks.

Wait you have a local retailer??? Fill in your profile cause if you're not located in Canada then you can buy from Redwolf.

I know there are some US and Euro players on these boards so I just want to make sure you're getting the right info for your locality.

Probably just bad lighting.
