MP5K and MP5A4/A5 Upper Receiver Comparison
Hey guys, I was just wondering, is an MP5K (upper) receiver compatible with an MP5A4/A5? I wanna know if you can switch out the clear upper receivers on the ICS or G&G MP5A4/A5s with an MP5K metal receiver.

No they will no swap. The MP5K holds a V3 mechbox, where as other MP5 models have a V2. To fit it would take a lot dremeling of work.

Also alot of MP5k bodies have a FIXED cocking tube assembly. Unlike a Mp5a(x) body which have a removable cocking tube assembly.

I might be misunderstanding you, but with the couple TM MP5K's I've taken apart, you can take out the cocking tube, and the cocking lever (and the spring that makes them work), out of the gun quite easily.

I guess I didn't explain well. I ment that that assembly is attached to the upper in an mp5k. Once the gearbox is out the cocking tube assembly can be broken down as you stated. But on a V2 mechbox mp5 the cocking tube assembly is a separate system from the upper receiver. Thats all I meant.

No they won't without a ton of work. Just go to WGCshop and look up mp5 uppers, you'll see the main cosmetic differences.
