Question : PDI Piston Head For 1911

Hi guys, I just bought PDI piston head for TM 1911 Colt. But I used it for my hi capa 5.1 instead (Dentrinity said it would also fit TM hi capa). Installation was no problem, but the strange thing is : after I tighten the piston screw(I use the one that came with PDI, not the marui original) the piston still have some play (back and forth play), so its not securely tighten. Is this normal?

Thanks for the help.

Having never used those myself I can't say from personal experience, but I've heard that it is advised to let the piston "float" a bit in a GBB to not cause the nozzle to move in a overconstaint fashion. I believe the stock piston also floats when tighten down...

I filed down the screw so it is shorter and now I can securely tighten the piston head. This is also OK, right?

I've used both nine ball and airsoft surgeon piston heads in my 1911 and they have both been tight. I had a glock with a nine ball piston head in it and it came loose, causing a bad gas leak which gave it low fps and blowback speed.

It's also fine if it's secured.
The stock piston head is loose for some setups.

However, MOST setups, oem or aftermarket have a secured piston head.
