KJW or TM p226

Hey all,

I'm looking at getting a new GBB and decided upon the P226. I am however torn between KJW or TM. I like the KJW with the full metal and add realism. I've heard they can be hard on gas, but how much (will it do a full mag worth).The KJW is also said to be heavy but is it too heavy to enjoy in game.
I like the TM with it quality but don't like the plastic as much as the metal and i'm not interested by paying nother extra 100 for metal. Any suggestions and info on how the works are, more specifically on KJW owners. thx

I've got a KJW P229 and I've played with a TM P226. I'm not impressed by the TM P226 at all, both in shooting and feel. Performance is good, but body is too plasticky and clearly so. Not all TM GBBs' plastic construction bothered me the way the P226 does.

KSC/KJW makes an excellent sidearm regardless of the replica model. While TM's have close to legendary reliability, I've always found them plastic feeling in my hands.

That sounds like more of what i'm looking for. I was also interest in gas consumption.Just how much (quantitative).

I do believe they're about the time. Someone correct me of I'm wrong, but KSC's and KJW's usually get two or three reloads per mag charge.

I have the KJW and it feels great. Having a problem with the gas usage right now - only getting three shots max, so I have to replace the o-rings (same prob with both old and BNIB mags, so it's the pistol, not the magazine).
HOWEVER, everything I've read (there are a lot of posts on ASC and elsewhere, hint hint) suggests around 1.5 mags/fill is to be expected under ordinary circumstances. Of course that changes if your mag is hot/cold, you're shooting hard, etc.
KJW is a little famous for low quality mags, so you may get occasional leaks. Keep it oiled, and keep a tiny tiny bit of gas in your mags when storing them (less than 1 shot's worth) just to keep a little gentle pressure on the seals to keep them from deforming.

Personally... I don't think gas consumption is that important... As long as it can fire a whole mag of BB's on a charge of gas that's good enough for me (I mean it's not like propane is expensive lol)

I've handled both, the KJW ones are solid as hell... but the TM ones are extremely reliable and there's more aftermarket for them.

For some one like myself who constantly tunes everything to the very best it can get, TM would be the way to go..

For some one looking for a good side-arm for those "Just in case" moments, KJW would be an excellent choice.

Something you may want to look into is the KSC 226... They're ABS like the TM's... but they feel MUCH more solid to me.

i'm of the same opinion. I'm playing indoor right not so also long as i get a mags worth that great. It's not like i'd be or have time to reload in the middle of these games. Thanks for all the good info and sounds like KJW the one. Just one final note on the weight. I hear the KJW's is heavy but that that doesn't mean anything if i can't compare it to somethine. Just how heavy is it. Is it too heavy that its a pain in game, or is it just heavier than normal. I have a CYBER GUN TAURUS 24/7 co2 and know how light that is. Any comparisons please.

The weight is 2lbs. This pistol is all metal, so there is a marked increase in weight over a plastic gun. Weight-wise it feels pretty similar to the RS (though definitely not as solid or smooth).

Get a TM.

I had a KJ P229. It was a looker, and it felt good. Even sounded good. But a performer it was not. Once it got even slightly cold performance went downhill and it wouldn't even cycle properly.

I now have a TM Hicapa 5.1 and love it.
