Buying fisrt gun advice and help please. Thanks

First, Thank you very much Airsoft Canada Staff. You run a great site here help us a lot.

Second, Thank you Brian McIlmoyle and TTAC3, help me AVed fast.

Now my noob questions:

so I am about to buy my first AEG and BBG pistol, and I really want FULL MATEL guns, don’t really care about the trade mark, but more concern Durability, reliability.
I did some research; this is what I understand for AEG and BBG pistol:
AEG: it seems to me only ICS and KWA comes with FULL MATEL,
ICS has split mechbox -> more maintenance more upgrade but most of upgrade is not working for non ICS brand.
ICS has better looking, better battery life and body is good, but paint looks bad.
But I don’t see people selling ICS in ASC, does that mean ICS is hard to get?
KWA has reinforced mechbox -> less maintenance, better durability, internals are outstanding.
KWA has lower price compare to ISC.
So there is my question:
For me as a newb, who won’t play lots of games soon and don’t have any idea about mechbox or internals, what should I go with?
Btw I really want a MP5 and M4 for my first AEG.
BBG pistol: I will go with 1911 or Beretta, so it narrows to KJW, WE, some of TM (Tokyo Marui Beretta 92FS Chrome Stainless) and WA.
I heard lots of people saying WE is bad compare to TM (but most of them are not metal) so I am wondering how bad is WE?
Which brand you expert will choose for a FULL METAL 1911 or Beretta, and why?

That’s about it. I am Really Sorry about the length or If I asked some noob questions.

Thank you very much for reading, thanks more for any opinions.

Classic Army and G&P are also full metal. Not sure how CA and ICS are matched against eachother, but G&P is generally considered excellent quality.

If you're looking at an MP5 I'd suggest a classic army one. They're 100% TM compatible so parts are easy to find.

As for a Beretta, I'd look at KJW. Not bad quality and spare parts are available. As for a 1911 I'm not sure if KJ makes one. I know TM and Western Arms do but IIRC they are ABS.

Lots of AEGs come full metal, not just ICS and KWA. CA, VFC, STAR/ARES, G&G, G&P, some of the clones, etc. In fact, full metal is almost the industry standard these days.

If you don't want to mess around with it, between KWA and ICS, go with KWA. If a KWA goes wrong, it's easier to fix and source parts for.

As for GBB... There are plenty of threads on WE. Read those. Check out Airsoft Barracks, there's a couple good studies on the WE there, instead of a lot of opinions and hearsays.

If you're just starting out, avoid 1911s. Their single stack magazine holds less gas than double stack magazines, making them more tempermental. Beretta might be the better choice in this regard, though I consider the TM Hi-Capa 4.3 (and any clones) the most newbie friendly gun.

What is your budget, anyways?

u really cant go wrong with KWA its newb friendly and kicks butt in the field!
for GBB if u like the M9 and fullmetal, KJW would be a good choice, also WE hi-cappa's are pretty good too (all metal), for anything else id recommend TM even tho there plastic ,they will never give you problems unlike KJW (mag leaks) and u can still upgrade to full metal in the future. hope this helps

As a counter, consider a KJW Para-Ordinance P.14-45. It's essentially a double-stack 1911. The only issue with these I can see is spare parts for them are a COMPLETE BITCH to find, which again may make the Beretta a better choice.

+1 to the 4.3. I don't personally like them but it's certaintly a reliable pistol.

If it between ICS and KWA, i'd go with KWA. Better internals, plus my friend has an ICS and it's constantly breaking.
As for the pistol, go with KJW. I have the KJW plastic version, and it's taken me from hell and back with no internal damage whatsoever until FINALLY me and my stupid self decided to use propane. Then it bit the dust, but buying the full metal version should solve that.
Also i have a WE 1911 and lets just say long story short i'm never buying WE again.
Hope this helps.

WOW, thank you very much guys, great replys help a lot and very fast too.

so i narrow down to M4 and Beretta.

and i am going to do more research on CA and G&G M4.

so if let you export choose for M4 what will it be? CA, KWA or G&P. i read G&P is better than G&G or is that the other way around ?

looks like ICS is not that good after all....

Depending on the gun, you don't need to upgrade out of the box.

Are you dead set on starting out with both an AEG and a pistol, or would you settle for the best AEG possible first and pistol later down the road?

If you can pop into ASC's IRC chatroom, this would go a lot faster.

For pistol, get that KJW KP05. It's the simplest answer to what you're looking for.

For AEG, I'd recommend a M4 over a MP5 for you. Easier to get the battery in and out, better mags, simpler to get inside of if something went wrong.

Problem with M4s is that there are so many different variations, could you be a little more specific? Fixed stock or adjustable stock? Railed foregrip or non-railed? What kind of sights? Etc. Pics of what you'd like if possible.

And for the record, I'm not spoonfeeding you, I'm merely having a chat with a new airsofter.
