So your Thompson's barrel exploded...
Seems to be a tradition among Marui M1A1 users to have their barrel - receiver piece break in half from being made of terrible quality metals. So after much deliberation with glue, extra screws, and whatever else I could muster and pass off as feasible in holding the bastard together, I sort of gave up.
So then I remembered, "hey wait the internet." There's a guy in Britain who seems to be selling barrel fix kits for the M1A1's retardation issue, though he's a bit far for my liking, especially when the last post about the issue was half a year ago or so. Anybody know someone who can get some of these kits, or similar things done more... local? Or if they can give a link to maybe... an in stock CAW 1928 kit (because those don't have the barrel issue)? Thank you for your assistance. tl;dr: My Thompson's barrel snapped, anybody know a fix? |

Ask Vondnik (a mod on ASC). He's done some neat things with Thompsons.

Contact Hortons heros he rigged something up a while back. I think he got a guy to weld it back together... made some nifty contraption, and fixed his broken barrel and made it look normal again.
[edit] Here's some pictures of his fix: Sorry for such big pictures, I do not have enough time to make them smaller.

ya i just finished doin it actualy. i picked up some mightyputty (as seen on tv) put some across where it broke and it seems to have made enough of a hold to keep it from wobbling.as long as i dont lend it out to anyone that is goin to smash it again i think im good to go.
