TM M14
Ok so i have been thinking about making my M14 into a long range gun, but not a sniper. I almost always play with it on single shot and I am getting a scope for it and stuff so... a few questions...
1) What would an M140 spring give me in the way of FPS? (Please don't give me the link to the spring chart because I don't understand it) 2) What kind of motor does the M14 use? a short one or a long one? 3) I need a High Torque motor with a stronger spring? 4) With an upgrade to the spring and motor, I should upgrade the gears and the bushings and stuff or will it not matter as I am not looking for speed? Thanks in advance

M140 would put you in the high 400's I'd say, nearing the 500 mark. M14's use a long type motor. You won't need to change the motor. If it is completely stock metal bushing couldn't hurt, I don't think your gears would be an issue.

Here's what I've put in my Kart M-14.
-Guarder 6.04 TB Barrel -Systema M120 spring -KA metal Bushing -Guarder Hi troque motor. All this to shoot around 365. However, I suspect the cylinder to leak air. M120 should shoot around 400 fps on a normal setup. so: 1) m140 will probably be higher than 400 2) short AK type 3) I suggest changing the motor for a high torque (Will alkso give you faster responfd on semi automatic. 4)Don't see the need to switch gear if you plan to use it in semi automatic only.

Will you be doing the upgrading yourself? I mean, if you can't even read the spring guide, this might be something you'd want to out source.

This is a good setup I agree, also if its leaking air make sure your O-ring on your airseal is lubed and no knicks on it
Also DO NOT OVERLOOK the proper shimming, a good shim job is well worth it, I busted my internals in my TM twice and now its finally working again so TM gearboxes are extra friendly for the first time tinkerer Also its well worth it to learn how to tinker your gun yourself, yes it will be costly at first (breaking parts) but after that you will learn from your mistakes you will never need a gun doc Quote:

Guarder offers a steel cut off lever for semi auto. I find that the finish on the Guarder steel gears wear down the OE cut off lever prematurely. |

M140 is too hot for Op-For and BCAC 2) What kind of motor does the M14 use? a short one or a long one? Short 3) I need a High Torque motor with a stronger spring? Not necessary 4) With an upgrade to the spring and motor, I should upgrade the gears and the bushings and stuff or will it not matter as I am not looking for speed? Tightbore for accuracy, metal bushing, super torque up gears, spring guide, seal nozzle and Mosfet |

I have done a few upgrade on my G36 but anything involving the mechbox I will give to my friend, he is really the only person I trust with my guns.
What does a Mosfet do? And so i would be looking for an M120 spring then? I want it to be 400fps.

Modify S100+ (just below 400, usually around 370) or M120/S110 (just above 400 at around 420) will be the spring you want.

Ok so this is what I have... Since I only use it on semi auto, and it is brand new I wont worry about the gears and stuff just yet.
-Prometheus EG Barrel 500mm for Marui M14 -Systema Taper Spring M120 -Systema Magnum Motor (Short) -Systema Spring Guide with Bearing VER III
