M14 wood stock question

Will a wood stock for a TM M14 also work with the TM M14 socom ? From looking at pictures, they look pretty close to the same to me. The socom appears to just have a shortened barrel.

I'm looking to build a bastardized M14 from the ground up...any other major differences between the Socom and full size M14 that I should know about ?

Cheers

only difference i've seen is the barrel length/the front sight position/flash hinder/and that it says Socom on the bolt

Is there any part of the M14 which won't make it through the CBSA ? I can't think of anything which isn't kosher in that respect.

You'll get a stock across with no problems.. talk to Hotrod.. he's got an M14 in pieces that you might be able to get some parts from

Jiggiwatt -

I have several M14's and I switch the stock from my SOCOM 16 to my M14 back and forth all the time.

I really like the finish on the TM SOCOM 16 over the regular TM M14 stock, so I find myself switching the stocks out quite a bit. Takes about 20 seconds

Really ? so if I got a G&G mechbox with G&G walnut stuck then I'm screwed if I want to use TM parts ? Because unfortunately that cranks the price of this project through the roof.

None of the internals are compatable between G&G and TM for the M14's. I was just thinking of the wood stock.

When they say TM compatible, would the wood stock slip right on
to my agm m14,or are there slight adjustments to be made?.

AMG =TM clone. so any TM M14 products will work with the AGM M14.

Springs!

Sorry, had to...

I greatly dislike G&G (and thus CA as they copied G&G) M14's, I have owned both TM and G&G and found the G&G horrific performance wise and the hopup was a nightmare, it just kept shredding rubbers. My TM is a nail driver and deadly accurate, I have made several one shot kills past 150' (practically no wind days though.)

well if by good ya it is. its walnut, but that is pricy IMHO. i got my wood stock for about 155ish. But again, its not walnut (i dont actually now the type of wood). It all depends on what you want to spend.
