the newer version of their metal body has better fitment and no gap between the top and lower receiver. Also when used with their own reinforced mechbox, the fitment is superb. I couldnt ask for much more friend is in the process of making one using this guide Last edited by Skladfin; August 14th, 2008 at 02:07.. |

Have any of you seen one of these bodies break?
If you do you'll grow to understand my dis-taste for these things... The metal on the inside kinda looks like an Aero bar... but... these bubbles don't make you happy... just angry... |

Nice. I did see an actual MGS4 Old Snake M4 being made by one of the clone companies.

I have a new DBOYS metal body on my MGS4: M4 Custom project and it's tighter than a __(insert something really tight here)__. I'm just waiting on a motor and front sight, and mine is all done. Woohoo! Oh, and it should be said, that building from scratch is definitely the way to go. I tried using a JG (Echo1) M4 S-System as a base and had nothing but troubles. Ended up scrapping the idea and building from scratch. I put a DBOYS complete mechbox in the gun to test the mechbox out. I'll see how well it works once the motor comes in. And whether or not it can stand up to the 11.1V 1200 3-cell LiPo. One last thing - I used G&P Tan Pistol Grip and Stock. I was thinking about OD or Dark Earth, but logic struck. Snake found the gun in a desert mission - so it's likely not OD. Finding Dark Earth components that look exactly like stock M4 parts is pretty tough - so I went with Tan. The body is tight because of the selector disk. I had the same problem, but it was fixed when I swapped out the Dboys selector disk for my TM one. I'm still trying to get my m16 to work though

But they're a retailer doing exactly what we're doing here. Another note: The "ACM Free Float RAS" (http://www.rsov.com/index.php?target...roduct_id=2738), the exact one I used, my EOTech 552 Could not fit over the D-Ring, like snake has it here: The D-Ring is too large across (diameter), and will need to be dremmeled, or the EOTech will need to be dremmeled. Not something I'm willing to do just yet. Also, I used a CA M15A2 outer barrel, so it doesn't have the notch in the barrel for the M203. The one Snake uses doesn't have this notch either, so I figured it was a good fit. Those are just the little differences between mine and Skladfin's. hmm the same RAS for me was pretty good, no fitment issues with the rail.
thought I'd say its a quality control problem. now all we need is that skin-tight suit he wears! I just dont know if anyone's willing to game like that. btw CRW airsoft uses RIS instead of RAS |
