Hi-Capa Users read, as well as people who are good at finding obscure parts.
Hey guys. Random part broke in my Hi-Capa,
Tokyo Marui Part #: H51-52 I'll update with better pictures and descriptions tomorrow When you have your slide off, it's the little piece of metal that fits in a notch at the back of the magazine, I believe to prevent side to side motion of the magazine. Older models were square on the bottom I've been told (like mine) and this caused extra stress on that specific part when a magazine was inserted, as it was pressed tightly against it. Newer generations of the gun are rounded here, helping prevent this problem. The purpose of this thread is two part, one, to warn current Hi-Capa owners to check if it's rounded off or not, and if it isn't, to suggest they do it to prevent wear on their guns. The second part being, can anybody help me find this part? :P |

Wow, what an odd part to break... Mine is square, meaning not rounded of at all and is still going after many, many mags...
I see a little wear on the mags where this tab contacts it, but it doesn't look to be so much that it would actually break. Have you tried firing the pistol without this tab? What happens? |

It's busted off on one of my capas, but the gun continues to shoot just fine. It looks like it can bash against the bottom of the valve pocket milled in a mag when it's slammed into battery. I've noted that this part is starting to bend up on some of my Capas, but after seeing no problems with the first one that broke off, I'm not too worried.

Not yet, the pistol was in pieces for a re-finishing of the paint, and it broke when I was re-assembling. Which is fortunate it broke when it did. In game it would have just fallen out when I swapped mags and been lost forever.
I've superglued it back on, after rounding it, and just letting it cure now. Once it cures I'll give it a shot Quote:
Good to know, thanks. Still though, if anyone knows where I could find the part, I'd appreciate. I just don't feel right inside knowing my baby is hurting on the inside....:P Last edited by Cushak; August 11th, 2008 at 03:10.. |
