TM m16 Issues.
Aaaalright. I get my G&P RDS and railed gas block tommorow, and i've encountered a doozy of problems with my m16.
Heres the story so far. I was able to grab an old TM m16a2 for 220 from a buddy of mine, It had a broken receiver tab (which turned to broken tabS) and a missing hopup bucking. So I purchased a Dboys metal body, Which ended up not fitting... So I filed down the top of the gearbox only a little bit to make it fit ( The spring for the T charging handle was colliding) and all was good. a few days after that, I received my Kings arms Metal hopup unit, which was installed soon after. My problems: 1) Whenever i fire, it sounds like the inside of my gun is farting. I dont think my bbs are able to get past the hopup unit. like I had mentioned, the hopup unit was changed to a metal one peice. I'm thinking the problem is that the end of the hopup sleeve isnt pushed on far enough, i'll try fixing that tonight. 2) I can hear a 'vibration' noise inside of my gearbox. I took off my upper receiver and watched the gun fire, the guns spring is vibrating with each shot. 3) My fuse wire is pinched and seems to be blowing the fuse a lot, The negetive wire is pinched. I'm gonna send that out to be replaced. lucky I have a local battery shop nearby. 4) My motor starts to overheat as I fire, I think its because of the crunched negative wire. Thats it for problems so far... I will list more as soon as I encounter more problems... Im sure i'll encounter more. ________ LovelyWendie Last edited by Strelok; April 11th, 2011 at 11:48.. |

I cant stress this point out enough
if you are upgrading, always, ALWAYS do your best to keep all the parts the same brand. All brands have different tolerances and fitment. Trying to make Dboys body work with King arms hop up along with a TM mechbox is like trying to fit a lego piece onto a human. 1:what hop up rubber are you using? and do you have an air seal nozzle? 2:the spring always vibrates with each shot. 3:ya, do what you suggested to yourself 4: probably is, either that or you have it too tight into the mechbox hope that helps! |

The "farting" problem sounds like the mechbox not aligning with the hopup unit. The dboys hopup is crap in most cases. If the barrel is tweaked on too hard it can throw things out of alignment...same with the stock screw.
Not sure about the spring vibrating...I have noticed some with a more distinct "twang" than others...but I'd be hard pressed to make a generalization. Always replace compromised wiring...best is to resolder a complete new wire from switch assembly to connector/fuse. Don't just patch in a bit of wire or cut it and reconnect it. Best of luck |

It might be a compatibility issue with the Dboys body, TM mechbox and KA metal hopup. There's lots of different brands of parts there and lots of potential air leaks. I'd make sure the hopup is correctly fitting with the nozzle and check the air seal.

Did you lube your brand new hopup?

2: Having fired other AEGs before, including AEGS, the vibration is way beyond normal, I actually get a loud vibration noise whenever I fire. 3: working on it... Work hours suck though, they close when I get off work 4: Once I get my battery/charger and replace my fuse wire, i'll test that out. Quote:
Yeah, I dunno, the twang is really really distinct. i'm gonna play around with it more and see what i can do with the gearbox. As for the wire. I wont be doing any of this stuff at home. I am capable, but I lack the tools to do so. I'll be taking it to professionals Quote:
Again, the airseal seems to be the best bet I think I might just have to do that. ________ Fix Ps3 Last edited by Strelok; April 11th, 2011 at 11:48.. |
