addon board for SW-computer

i just had a kinda idea... you know what would be a cool addon board? a kinda shot odometer. resetable, but only if you send it the reset command. i'd like to know how many shots i fired for sure. lol if it could tell somehow if a bb was fired or if it was dry fired that would be a bonus.

..just throwing it out there.

It only knows how many times the gearbox cycles, not whether or not a BB was actually present. For that, you'd need one of the units with a sensor in the hopup, which is to stop the gun from shooting when there aren't any BBs left (which technically means you'd never be dry firing in the first place).

for that to work i think you'd get at least one dry fire off..

i've been out of the community for a little while (winter)

is there a company that makes a hopup with a sensor in it?

but like i said. if it could tell if it was a dry fire, that would be a bonus. with whichever sensor it uses.

I don't remember whom exactly, but I remember reading (probably on airsoft mechanics) someone was modding a hopup unit with a sensor in it, and the FET was cutting out if/when there wasn't a BB loaded.

The idea is, of course, to have the gun not fire when it's out of ammo.

Check out airsoftmechanics.com, you can probably find some interesting stuff. I haven't been staying on top of this myself.

What if its just an IR sensor similar to the TM Tracer unit, and instead of lighting up an LED it counted BBs passing?

Karma is working on an interesting little shot meter right now. He's taking pictures and he'll post up a nice long thing when he gets it finished.
