Possible Reasons for Slow Firing TM M4A1?
I just recently picked up a bunch of TM M4A1's and one of them seems to be firing slower than the rest. On an 8.4v 1400mAh battery (I used the same one on all of them to compare), this stock M4 cycles at about half the speed of the others.
What are the possible causes of this? I was told that it wouldn't be the motor, because those are usually either working or burnt out entirely. Sticky piston? Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say tight shimming is the # 1 suspect.
Number 2 would be too much electrical resistance. |

Could be anything from mechanical to electrical.pretty much have to take the thing apart and have a look..pm commin

If it's used, swap the motor with one that works and see if that changes anything. If it does, then the motor's probably on it's way to the graveyard.
Other than that, I'd look in to the shimming. |

Perhaps the motor may be seated incorrectly too. If it's too tight into the gearbox, that could slow it down. Had that problem with my C8 (TM M4A1 internals) too. Otherwise, I would say (from my limited experience) that the motor might be going of the gearbox is shimmed to tightly.
I'd start with the easy route and trying the motor height adjustment. If that doesn't work, then try swapping motors like Illusion suggested. If those don't solve the problem, then you'll have to tear into the mechbox.

Alright, I tried the motor height adjustment and no change. Swapped the motor with a brand new TM EG100 and no change. Redid all the wiring and it got slightly faster, but still much slower than the brand new TM M4A1.
I'm going to bring this in to Syndrome and his crew in North Bay for them to have a look at. I may just end up getting one of those Systema drop-in gearbox solutions.

rewired? and didn't bother to check the shims? oy i think rewiring is more work then re-shimming

I have yet to crack open an AEG gearbox... that is uncharted territory. Seeing as this gun is apparently stock, then sticky piston sounds about right. How do I fix that?
