Need help to make a Mini Female To Large Male Tamiya Connector for CA G36

I’ve just bought a Classic army G36 and tried it with the only small battery I have here and the gun only fired one shot and don’t work anymore, but I really think the problem is the battery, because this is a cheapo no brand battery that came with one china made AGE I bought.
I've read that the G36 needs a good brand battery in order to work.

I’ve ordered an intellect 1400mah mini, but it won’t be here until next week or so and I need to test the G36 as soon as possible because if the gun is problematic I only have few days to return or exchange it.

I have a couple of the Intellect 3600mah large battery, so I am going to get a Tamiya adapter connector to get a large size battery on my g36 just to test it, but I will have to make my own mini to large adapter and I don't want to mess with the wires in the gun, so that is why I want to make my own connector.

So I’ll get all the required mini to large plugs and wires but i am not sure whether i can simply connect the wires and wrap with electrical tape or whether I should soldered them.
I want to make an adapter where I can connect a Mini Tamiya female connector to the gun connector and a Large Tamiya male connector to connect to the large battery.

But looking at pictures it doesn't seem there is any like the one I want (PLEASE ADVISE IF THERE IS ONE IN THE SITE CAUSE I DON'T THINK SO), since they are either male with male or female with female or only minis or large connectors, and what I need is a Mini female and a Large male on the other side.
I am not going to be changing or altering the leads, I will simple cut the wire and use electrical tape to secure them, but I am not sure if I should instead solder them.
And if I use electrical tape, will it be safe enough?

I would appreciate any insights into that as soon as possible because as I said I need to decide whether there is a problem with the gun itself or is just the battery.
By the way, as far as I know Great Hobbies is the only store in Edmonton that I can find these adapters, and they don't have any good brand mini batteries.

Change everything over to Deans Ultra connectors, and use the large connector/wire you cut off to make an adaptor for your charger.

Thanks, I indeed plan to get a deans connector, particularly because I plan to buy one of the G&P g36 stock and it comes with deans connector wiring, but for now i want first check with the batteries i have here whether the problem is the battery or the gun.

+1, but buy the gold plated deans on ebay, and not the ones from hong kong either those are crap. Look for something being sold from the states or Canada.

There's Deans Ultras being sold in the parts section of the classifieds.

And those ones aren't real Deans connectors. Real Deans Ultras come with the heat shrink cut to size already, the fake ones come with one piece of heatshrink you have to cut yourself. I bought some Modify Ultra connectors, and it takes a bit of time to put hte two halves together, they have to be JUST RIGHT to make them connect. Even though I got these at half the cost of the real Deans Ultra connectors, I think from now one I'll just buy the real Deans since they are much higher quality and easy to use.

Oh ya, poster dude, if you just want an adaptor to toss together for bench testing, twisting the wires together is ok (soldering is best), and wrapping in electrocution tape is fine. But as a game adaptor, is best to go with heat shrink

For the love of god, if you use Deans, make sure you put the male end on the gun, not the battery. If you put the male end on the battery, you risk it coming into contact with something metal, allowing the circuit to complete and the battery to fry.
