G36 massive low FPS
Well, my G36 is shooting around 240 Fps... it has an MS100SP spring, so I figure it should be shooting at least 320. The spring and spring guides are the only upgrades to this gun.
Things I have checked: -Piston Seal: I thought I was getting bad compression, so I replaced the O-ring. FPS went up from 220 to 240. Getting good compression now so I don't think that's it. -Hop-up: Hop-up is off, assembled and seated correctly. Things I suspect: -Spring: I'm guessing maybe I have a bum spring. I can swap it with the stock one or I may just put in a 110 or 120. Things I don't know: -Wondering if there is anythign else I should check next time I have the mechbox apart that could be causing the FPS loss?

busted cylinder head maybe

Cylinder head seems fine (didn't see any cracks), and I'm getting a great seal between it and the cylinder. (I can put my finger over the nozzel and I can barley push the piston in).

Is it the G36c or the full length?
If it's the "C", did you put your cylinder in with the side vent window towards the back or front of the mechbox? (should be back) also, if it's a non-linear spring, make sure your tighter coils are towards the back end of the gun as well. I know these might seem like noobish mistakes but I made the first one when I first upgraded my gun. Good luck in solving your problem.

Yes the piston head is vented.

could just be a lemon spring, i ordered a PDI 120% spring once and it was so fucking strong that a huge 12V couldn,t even compress it.

That's the direction I'm leaning too. The spring was one of the first upgrades I did to this gun, and it seems that since then it's performance has been inconsistent at best -I always chocked it up to something else but I'm quickly running out of options.

It must be the spring. If you've checked everything properly and your getting good compression...

I have the same problem w/ a buddy's G36E and I had a guarder 150 spring around and just to see what it would do we put it in knowing it should shoot really hard but it only shot 385-398 fps. We checked EVERYTHING in there and can't figure out why its doing that. He has a bore up kit in there as well thinkin that it should help push it more...we're stumped on where the air loss is???

it might also be the hopup is not makeing a good seal around the barrel and the air might be getting out there. you might want to try a full metal hopup assembly insted of the stock plasitc ones. even thogh you have conf that it looks fine sometimes air can find places to go that the eye can't see that might be the place that you are loseing the FPS

Take the bore up kit OUT unless he's got a barrel around 700mm or longer. Bore up kits are not "upgrades" per say, they're really only useful in guns with ridiculously long barrels. In a normal AEG like a G36, all it's going to do is reduce your potential fps.
