WA 1911 slide getting stuck.

Hello airsoft doctors,

I'm in need of some help here with a problem I got with my WA 1911 non-SCW.

I am unable to fire more than 3 shots without having the slide getting stuck like that :

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/DSCN0512.jpg

And at this point the gas will get all expelled at once. After talking to Stalker I realised my trouble could be with the lubbing on the firing pin so I took care of that and it didn't help, I changed back to a upgraded hammer spring and for some reason it helped me since I was able to fire 2 mags before encountering the same problem again.

I messed with it a little and realized that when moving the slide back sometimes the nozzle would get stuck in the chamber and I remembered that I upgraded to a metal chamber so I just tried ordering a new chamber, Guarder, and I am still encountering the same problem. I did some filing on the other chamber and even that didn't help me so far.

Now I got to ask you, what do you guys think could be my problem here.

my tm hi-capa did that once, the rubber seal in the loading nozzle had managed to jam itself forward. Took a bit of force, but i managed to get the slide off and unjam it.

(this was all due to firing it on propane when it was really hot out)

Take apart the loading nozzle / piston see if anything looks out of place...

hope this helps - alex

Check your blowback chamber. Make sure your nozzle can move freely.

Also, it's normal for the nozzle to stick sometimes. All 5 of my WAs did this.

Does the spring in the picture normally jut out like that?

I did took the chamber apart and it moving freely without any problem. And yeah whenever the slide gets stuck like that I have to force it back forward.

Okay, check your hammer. Is it getting stuck on anything?

Check the oring on your piston. If it's loose, it may be unseating and binding with the nozzle body when it's pressurized.

Hammer is moving freely, I have a feeling I would have to check the blowback chamber again just to be sure. Any clue as to what I should be looking for exactly ?

I checked the O-ring itself and it's well in place without any movement from it.

I've had this problem with my WA speedcomp and it seems to have been worn slide. I'd also check the blowback assembly for any loose parts.

I messed with it again and here is what I came up with :

When I rack the slide back, the nozzle gets stuck against the metal chamber but when I shot and it gets stuck it's different. It seems like it's the metal chamber that doesn't move out of the way fast enough so the chamber gets stuck in the slide. When it's stuck like that the nozzle isn't even touching the inside of the metal chamber.

Try this test with no ammo but gas:

-lightly press on outer barrel (push it rearwards) and fire

If the barrel cycles properly, then I suspect you're missing the spring which pushes the barrel and chamber cover rearwards or you have a fitment issue that is preventing the OB from moving rearwards. Check the barrel engagement grooves forward of the ejector port inside the slide at the top. If they're bashed to shit, then they might not be engaging the matching lugs in the chamber and pushing the cover rear and downwards

Just a thought based on that picture - when I installed the King Arms airseal chamber in my TM P226, my loading nozzle would get stuck in the chamber as yours appears to be, and would jam up my slide too. Could that be what's happening to this gun? The nozzle on my WA 1911 doesn't stick to the chamber like that when I either rack the slide or shoot it. Perhaps the tip of the nozzle is getting caught in the hopup.

Ok, first get your gun to jam again. When it's jammed, take your palm and press the muzzle end of the outer barrel straight back. If this causes the slide to snap forward, the problem would be with the barrel assembly. Check the linkage between the inner and outer barrel (loading ramp area)... If you don't keep this area lubed well, the floating outer barrel may not "drop" down when the slide is blown back, thus causing the barrel to hang the slide...

This is probably a Pre-SCW WA. Most likely a magna-blowback system. The reason the nozzle gets held forward is because of the spring-loaded bbs coming up from the mag... When the slide is pulled back about 60% of the way, the nozzle return spring usually snaps it back allowing it to chamber a round...

Sorry for the delay in reponse but I did your test and it cycled properly. As far as the spring you're talking about goes well I don't have such a spring anywhere near the barrel assembly. Could you point me to where should I be looking for such a spring ?

Thanks.

EDIT : I checked on this diagram and I can't see anything :

http://tech.airsoftcanada.com/WA/gm_m1911_install1.jpg

This is exactly how the internals are on mine but I see no spring either on my pistol or the diagram.
