Can AEP's take a Li-Poly battery?
I am planning on upgrading my 18c aep with a slew of nineball products, and I would like to increase the battery capacity for a higher rof. I think i've found a lipoly battery that will fit inside the gun with little modification;

From what I read on a Japanese forum, the Li-Poly batteries will do damage to the motor. Sorry brutha

Thats what I figured. I guess i'll just stick with the 7.2 500mah for now.
Thanks |

I use li-poly in a couple of my AEGs primarily due to space issues, they do give incredible ROF, they are mostly running around 11 volts, they out last other batteries of equal Mah and little effect from the weather.
The rate of fire is what will KILL your AEG or AEP, higher rpm tends to start gears, piston, spring etc doing strange things like.. vibration and stress warpage, leading to misalignment and then BOOM (I know this from my own experience) if you go with rate of fire, use very good parts and proper shimming. As for your AEP, never thought of the little li=polys in the battery tray, I converted my AEP to a 8.4x1400 small battery by tether cord to my holster mag pouch, it works very well and last all day, but here again, using a li-poly @ 11 volts would likely spread the gut of your pistol all over, especially if you got an up-grade spring in it. hope this helps |

He is going to use a 2 cell setup which is 7.4 volt.
Shouldn't be a problem, but be careful you don't drain the battery too far because that will damage it. I'm sure there are a few low battery indicators you could try besides counting mags. |

ppffffftttt I laugh at their "Flammable can not be shipped by air" warning. I had three lipo's shipped from China via air...

I bet it would work.
The increase in ROF would not be sufficient to damage anything.... hell! I ran a crapsoft EBB on a 7.4v Li-Po (it was supposed to use 4x1.5v AAA batteries) It lasted until I added some spacers to the piston and used a 12v battery. Marui being better quality, a 0.2v increment is not going to kill it! Hint: You might want to check some other websites for Li-Po... or ask me! I got deals on anything battery related.... usually 10% cheaper |

i use a lipo internally on my upgraded mp7... actually i should say used to since i accidently killed the lipo while cleaning my room and haven't ordered a new one. I wouldn't actually plan on using it without upgrades though because of the obscene discharge rate that some lipo's have. When using it before upgrades the gearbox would cycle faster than the mags could load. sure it was fun to fire, but i would run out of ammo so fast

OK, so I think that i've decided on this;
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTCF4&P=7 AND http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPZT6&P=7 Now the question is how do I wire this into the gun? And do both leads need to be plugged into the charger or can I hard wire the longer battery lead directly to the gun and charge off of the other one? |

The battery i used was for an e-flite blade CP helicopter. This is basically the smallest 7.4 800mah battery i could find, although it doesn't have insane discharge rates of other ones but it works. Not sure if it'll fit in an AEP but it fits with a buncha room to spare in a MP7. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=EFLB0990
I highly recommend a smart charger with built in balancer since they're a bit cheaper than seperate components and are actually quite new. If i was to buy a charger it would probably be a bantam bc-6 since you can just plug AC power to it or perhaps a thunder power 610c. |

i did a battery mod to my old cm030 which i sold to my freind where i got 2 standard 7.2 batteries it came with hooked them together got my dad to put on a breaker so as to not overload the motor and it lasted for about a day and a half of gaming you just need a power breaker and the voltage is kept down so its not shooting like crazy with the spare parts from the other battery i found out which side was + and which was - and just soldered a ics battery modded so it fitted throught the hole in the top and wrapped around the front of the gun and i put a 20mm rail on it so you could put it on and take it off the gun (but my dad helped me with all of this he's a computer nerd) so do it at your own risk

That is the longest run-on sentence I've seen since summer break started.
Punctuation, son. It makes people take you seriously. If you want to be treated like an equal around here, put some effort into your communication...that means editing, spell check, proper grammar, etc. When you act/write like an adult, people are more likely to treat you like one.

I've seen AEG's with Li-pos... but an AEP?! Even if it's 7.2v, I wonder how the internals will hold up. Though it's a rather interesting idea.
