Re metal slides available for WA guns?

As can be seen in my sig, I have the WA 92FS. I love this gun, and it's the cosmetic jewel of my collection so far.

However, I'm very underwhelmed with its performance compared to my other guns. It gets very poor gas mileage on HCF134A gas. One fill barely gets off all 25 rounds. I've tried it with propane and the performance and accuracy are insane, but I know better than to constantly use a WA gun with propane. That's asking for trouble.

I've installed a much stiffer recoil spring (old spring from my KJW M9) and it helps tame the wild recoil significantly, but I still don't feel totally comfortable doing that. I now run it on a combination of 134 gas and propane, and it gets better performance, but still doesn't have anywhere near the range and power of my other 2 pistols. Because of this, the gun rarely sees any use.

So I was wondering if there were any metal slides on the market that would fit on this gun. I know th elikeliness of finding any metal parts is about a likely as Michael Jackson not popping a boner when surrounded by preschoolers, but I'm looking anyway. I've searched high and low for the past few weeks, and found very little in terms of WA parts anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing that by the lack of replies, that means that I'm probably smoking rope even thinking that this mythical part exists...

WA M9s are virtually impossible to find parts for. Kinda like KSC MK23s..

I was screwed on a deal with a W.A. 1911 HRT and I'v been looking for a Metal slide for over a year now with no luck as it's a Ver.1. You might have better luck if yours is a newer Ver. Good Luck!

Well, I'll keep looking, but won't get my hopes up. I'm pretty sure I won't find what I'm looking for though.

I was shooting at home earlier and took the WA out and ran it on straight 134 gas. It's not horribly powerful, but it's really accurate and still fun to shoot. Until I installed the tightbore barrel in my KSC Glock, the WA was the most accurate of my pistols. When I shoot it first, I tend to enjoy it a lot more. I'll squeeze off a few mags and have great fun with it.

But after just putting down my KJW M9, it really feels weak and very toy-like (even though they are technically all toys ). Same thing after shooting the Glock. Even when the Glock had its stock plastic slide and running on 134 gas, it still seemed to have more power and better recoil. Now with its metal slide and running propane, it leaves the WA so far behind in power that it's not even comparable. I don't even like comparing the WA to the KJW, because it's almost depressing. That KJW just feels so heavy, has just a strong blowback, and hit the target so hard.

On a side note, I did the coke can test with the KJW today and went through one side of the can. Are KJW M9s supposed to do 320 fps? The only upgrade its had was a 150% recoil spring. That shouldn't make it more powerful, should it?

Its called the western arm flow restricter, made by airsoft innovations.

Allows safe use of propane in western arm guns.

Your welcome

Even though Redwolf's chart isn't that reliable since they use different cans:

Quote:
ONE SIDE
(BB remains in can after penetrating one side) 290 to 310 fps
Why would you think it's 320?

Oops. My mistake on the FPS thing. I did it without referring back to the chart. Was going from memory from the test I did with my C8 last night.

As for the AI flow restrictor:

Quote:
The Airsoft Innovations Flow restrictor (FR) is a custom part which reduces the flow of gas into the recoil internals of semi automatic Western Arms 0.45/1911 series GBBs. Because of the way WA GBB internals work, only recoil speed is affected. Muzzle velocity is not reduced by the use of a FR.
I did my research and already looked into that option. It's a no-go with my gun, unfortunately.
