On my G&P M4 Commando the dust cover spring holds the dust cover closed
and to adjust the hop up I have to hold it in the open position. (That is the way it came from new)No little clip on it. |

you can get a magnetic one (if thats not what you got) i believe thats what i got with mine. works just the same, when you pull the ch back, it seperates the magnet from teh metalbody or mechbox.

I have a pet peeve about seeing ARs shot with the dust cover closed, so I ordered G&P "realistic" dust covers for my guns, which are always open. But they look nice.

I mean you adjust your hopup once and your good for the game, plus dust and crap doesnt get all over your hopup chamber, so despite being unrealistic its not really a hassle at all.

I dunno, the fake bolt carrier -ish thing keeps most of the dirt out.

All the G&P's I've owned/worked on don't have that faux bolt. The cylinder and hop-up are immediately visible when you open the dust cover. The charging handle does nothing unlike on a Marui or ICS for example.

If you care to have one, I have one G&P body that came from a donor G&P gun amd I was able to use a spare TM bolt carrier and it worked fine (along with bits from the TM charging handle)... so it's easily added.

I guess if you are using a non-G&P mechbox, there'd be room. The G&P 7mm renforced mechboxes that come with the complete guns are a pretty tight fit. I supposed anything is possible with a Dremel and some time.

well to be honest the only metal body ive found to allow the charging handle/ dust cover mechanism to work it a hurricane, or a stock ca. usually, esspecially with a tm, an after market metal body is the trade off fornon functional dust cover.
