my first gun. need imput
ok i think i have decided what one i want. i have read alot of reviews on different brands and models but im going for this one. http://www.007airsoft.com/products/p...ages/10049.jpg
http://www.007airsoft.com/products/htm/aeg-ca.htm the classic army M15A4..... i hear its very good right out of the box, its full metal (which i NEED) and its well built and at 620 brand new i suppose its reasonable........... but not really. i did submit my age info to a verifier but have not been verified yet so i dont know if they have something simular with a better price on the buy/sell what do you all think. good brand ? any suggestions ?

$620 isn't bad at all for a full metal gun, pretty cheap compared to others. Classic Army is pretty good, although I think you may have to swap out the mechbox and piston head, and other various things just in case. I don't fully understand how it works, but i've read a lot of things how the version 2 mechboxes are kinda poo, so check out the upgrade section for ideas.
Its a good choice, Classic army is a good brand and its nice that it comes in metal. If you don't choose that, you could stick with Tokyo Marui AEGS, lots to choose from there. |

I've had very few issues with my CA -none of which were mechbox related. I'm not sure how their V2 mechboxes hold up but CA guns are pretty good.

Definately a decent gun for anyone new to the sport, or even seasoned players. Since it's an Armalite, there's millions of upgrades for it too, just in case there's something you wanna do to it.

Why do you NEED full metal? Gonna knock off a bank or something? First thing I'd d is take it to a gun doc and have the bearing bushings removed and replaced with either higher-quality bearings, or solid metal bushings. CA bearings are crap - 3 of the 5 guns I repaired this summer were CA's with failed bearings. None cost less than $100 to fix.

Friend of mine has had one for almost a year now and he's had no mech box related problems, a couple of screws keep coming loose on it though, every time I take a look at it I find a screw or two to tighten.

I have an M15A4 rifle, and it's a damn nice gun. Feels great and shoots fantastic. From all the research I've done, these new CA rifles are excellent and durable. Their mechbox hold up well. They have 6m oily steel bushings and reinforced gears right out of the box. From what I've been able to tell, the parts that tend to be problematic on these newer ones are the piston and piston head, nether of which are expensive to replace. I've also read comments about the hopup rubber being hit or miss.
But to date, I've put several thousand rounds through mine and I haven't have any problems to date. I killed the spur gear on my TM M4A1 with fewer rounds than that. I think for a full metal gun out of the box, you can't do much better than CA for the price.

Sounds good, I am also thinking of getting a CA M15A4 Rifle. So it's always good to hear good things about it!

That's excellent logic you're spinning there; By the same reasoning, my car's gastank is "rated" for 40L, so I should be able to magically force 10% more gas in for 44L. |

before getting my systema, I was going for the G&P M4's Full Metal...have you considered G&P or TM "with upgraded body"?....

its just me but i dont really like getting things from china. i know all the guns come from there but i always feel like brands like TM are cheap (even tho they are fine) its just my crazy feeling. plus i had a cheap chines gun and it just feels cheep. CA has a full license to the m15 and is a very good replica, even the logo and i like the little details.

I've got both a TM M4 and the CA M4 (M15A4). The CA is build like a rock and finish and quality is much better than the TM, IMHO. I absolutely love my CA. However, the TM has had probably 20k+ rounds through it and never skips a beat. I was having low FPS issues with my CA right away and I just recently tore it apart and found the piston/piston head was not sealing properly within the cylinder. I had just baught a new systema cylinder and tried the stock CA piston/piston head in it and it seals perfectly...obviously the CA cylinder had a slightly larger bore (weird).
Anyways, I've had probably close to 10k rounds through my CA with a 150% spring and all the internals look great with practically no wear. |

TM is from China? You need to inform yourself a bit more. Go see what people use, you'd be surprised.
