Unable to screw M24 silencer attachment

I just got a CA m24, and bought a PDI M24 silencer attachment set (http://www.x-fire.org/m24/e.m24_attach.html)

And then I can't screw it on the thread. it stopped just like a 1mm deep.

Do i need to do any mod on the set or something else?

thanks

What type of thread is on the silencer you are using? The pdi site has the attachment thread listed as 14mm + (clockwise) only so if you are using a 14mm - (counterclockwise) silencer (which is most common) it wont work.

This is about the only question regarding the CA M24 I am completely unable to answer. Because I tried to take mine off once, didn't budge, so I left it. Literally I only spent 5 seconds on it then gave up. Gave up because there was zero reason for me to even take mine off.

Kay wait, is it the attachment adaptor or the silencer itself that is not threading. If its the attachment double check that yours is compatible with the CA M24, there are other versions out, Tanaka off the top me head.

If its the silencer, then like lupo said, check the size and direction of the threads.

Yea, its the attachment adaptor is not threading...has nothing to do witht he silencer, but on PDI website,,it specifies the adaptor is for CA M24

Mayb just mine has some problems, plus i bought it from japan..its kinda hard to return it.

so I just gonna go buy a tool sets of files...and grind off both edges off (the adapter and the barrel) then superglue it...

I would take a look at both threads on the adapter and the original end cap , compare the thread direction (clockwise , counterclockwise) the thread pitch (how many threads per inch or mm). They may say it will fit a CA gun but there could be a possibility of the threading being slightly different. Ive got a km head adapter on my ca m24 and had no problems putting it on.

I'd say no to the file, if its anything that nearly off just getting the paint off the threads would be your answer, in that case a good SOFT wire brush on a stand alone grinder and just gently touching it ((not holding it hard against it)) and getting the paint off. If its different very noticibly, you'll be wanting to find a tap for the proper threading, that could cost ya though.

Like dracheous suggested try wire brushing the threads first. Also you could apply a bit of lube. If its still not working you will have to find someone with a die head that matches the original and rethread the adapter.
