Ak Conversion to RPK
Hey, I was just wondering about somethings about converting my AK to an RPK. I've found a conversion kit (top of page)
http://www.gunnerairsoft.com/accesso...wood/index.htm is that barrel a completely new one for my gun? or is it an extension? and, How would I put the bipod on? also I've been having trouble getting my front grips off, I pull back the lever for the top one, but i cant get the grip off, and i have no idea how to get the bottom one off. (I have a Kraken AK by the way)

The included barrel replaces your stock barrel, and the bipod clamps around the barrel.

I couldn't find a damn guide for the front grips either.
The takedown lever for a real AK does nothing on a TM or their respective clones (Krakens for example). Take out the cleaning rod under the barrel (pull the tip of it down and out), take out screw thats holding the gas port to the barrel (the gas port being the pipe coming off the barrel and into the upper handguard), and slide it forward. Then you should be able to pull off both handguards. Pull hard. As for Gunners - they don't friggin' reply to their emails, and apparently hate Canada. I'm going with Rsov (www.rsov.com.) Heres the kit that I'd pick if I was doing the conversion you are: http://www.rsov.com/product_info.php?products_id=1264 Best of luck on the project, Cheers, Alex

RSOV sucks for wood kits. Gunner has more selection and much better prices. Bastards! I realllly wanted to make an order there. No luck.
And - always glad to help out a fellow AK enthusiast. Cheers, Alex

I've ordered twice from Gunner. It all depends if you get him on a good/bad day. If he's super busy he won't bother but sometimes you can order through him. |

If you can get him on a good day he's a good guy to deal with.

Try to get a TSD RPK. Its less than $400US and it comes at 350FPS, with a 3000rnd metal snail mag, and its metal and wood.

Just a FYI, our good friend Huang is bringing in these same conversion kits:

That's true, except that the one at RSOV also comes with the front sight and muzzlebrake. It's barrel also seems to have a different thickness. With shipping (to Ontario at least) it ends up $232 Canadian shipped, $22 more for the front sight and muzzle brake ain't bad.
But Huang is more known on these boards. Cheers, Alex
