V8 Gearbox questions
Ive read alot about how the type 89 has a "reinforced gearbox", but I cant seem to find a definitive "metal gears/bushings" statement on any review. Does anyone that has this rifle know what is and isn't metal inside the gearbox?
I want to upgrade to 400-420 fps, so I'm looking at a systema 120 spring. From what I read I'm assuming ill be okay as long as the gears and bushings are metal correct? Or are there other parts I should make sure are metal as well? Questions from an Airnoob!

Systema M120 should be OK with metal gears and bushings. I put a M120 in my AUG, and it has metal bushings and stock metal gears. The gears or piston might wear out faster, but only time will tell.

the m120 is fine of stock tm gears as long as you use metal bushings and shim it right. I have a set last 50,000 and only the spur gear failed. The piston was barely worn. It only had a notch cut out on the second to last tooth. If you have mini bats you might want a 9.6 mini though.

Mine works fine on a 8.4V, for reference.
