Smoothing/polishing out spray paint?

So I've been spray in on layers of some sort of paint I found in my basement, looks just like Krylon (I have Krylon at home, but not the one I want for this finish). Anyways, I painted over the receivers flat black factory paint, and it started bubbling up (even though the paint worked EXCELLENT over other parts that were already painted with Krylon flat black previously).

So, is there anything I can use to polish it down a bit, keeping its shine? Something to smooth it over...

If not, I guess I have to sand it down to bare metal tomorrow and buy some Krylon of the same type.

Suggestions appreciated!

Thanks,
Cheers,
Alex

Water-sand the paint to about a 400-grit satin finish, and paint it over.
The paint already on it, will act as a low-spot filler.

To buff out, use a towel-type cloth, with a medium-cut cleaner, followed by a hand-glaze. Then wax'er up.

"Meguire's" makes some decent polishing sauce. Can get it at crap-tire, or a marine supply store.

Thanks for the info! I was considering sanding it down a bit like you said, and then giving it another coat.

So - a medium-cut cleaner - what is it, and where do I get it? Or is Meguire's polishing compound the "cleaner"?

Hand glaze - is it the Car polish? Same style, rub with a towel type cloth? What kind of wax?

Sorry mate, I don't know anything about painting or finishing... anything.
