totaly new to airsoft, im just wondering about making some mods to the gun im getting

hey guys, im in the market for somthing other than my canadian tire guns, i want somthing thats gonna las me without breaking down by itself(im easy on my stuff so i probably wont be the one to kill it) so i was thinking a tm gun. most likly an m4 cuz thats all i really need.
i want a gun with ris mounts so i was thinking the m4-s system, but then i got thinking, what if i went with the
m4a1 ris and just got a metal body with an ris mount.
so my 1st (yes, my onest) question is, can i, and how do i install this:

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=2417

to this

Tokyo Marui M4A1 RIS

my second question is would it be best to get the m4-s

and my third is should i get the sr-16 instead and install a new stock like this one: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...roducts_id=886

and if so, how do i install it

im mostly asking all this because i need some people with experience to tell me how to waste my hard earnd cash.

k, the basic lowdown is that if you are easy on your stuff and you want a gun that you dont have to tinker with right away, get a Tokyo Marui. The Classic Army, while good, i h ave herd many reports of "bad batches". Lets say for example that in a TM batch of 10, there is 1 lemon. Then in a CA batch of 10, there might be 3-4. Or at least that is what i understand. While the CA guns that work, kick ass cause of their all metal bodies etc, the ones that dont (as i have read) have acpry internals rangings anyway from either too little or too much grease, to borken/missing pieces. Apprently, regardless of the CA that you get, you shoudl replace the hop up system on them. In that regards, TM wins. while they dont look as asthetically pleasing, they are genreally more reliable. get a TM, play with it for a bit, then slowly start decking it out with metal bodies and better internals. If you have the money, and you dont want to upgrade much and you want peace of mind, get a VFC. while very rare and expensive, they are very well made and dont have to be upgraded much. the VFC HK 416 shoots stock with .2 g BB from 315-325 fps and has an all metal contstuction. on top of that, the only thing i would mod would be a TB inner barrel. Long sotry short, if you want to waste all your cash and be smart doing it. Get a TM M-4 or w.e gun you like by them, and then upgrade it. as for the installation of that, try the doctors corner, or these sites:
http://www.mechbox.com/site/ -->shows how to take your gun apart
http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=...ie/basics.html --> has reviews on all brands of guns.

Hope this helps and welcome to the world of airsoft!

oh, one more thing, dose this site show how to install externals, and internals(like all of both)? i only skimmed thru cuz im in a hurry but i didnt see anything.

If you want to know about stuff, like opinions on guns, you can check the reviews section.
External add-ons are not hard to add, usually only need a screwdriver. Internals? It's highly suggested you find a local expert from the 'doctors' list we already have. There are descriptions on how to setup a mechbox, but seeing it done at least once does not hurt. It's in the Upgrades and Modifications section, and/or the Doctors Corner.
Please DO take your time to do the research, and check the laws relating to them in your province while you are at it.

Nutshell, read a lot.

CQB-r, as in G&P CQB-r or CA CQB?

I'd suggest sticking to CA or TM, they're more newbie friendly.

Metal body installation is fairly easy. Mechbox.com has a dissasembly video that you can watch and essentially get the gist of.
Remeber with an M4 System, the reciever itself is actually diffrent from that regular M4 bodys, and intalling a regular metal body I believe is a high cost project since you require both the body and a kit to make everything work.

Stock installation is simple, you can find the details in the same video on mechbox about how do dissaseble an m733. The jist of it is, remove the stock, remove the tube cover with an alan key, remove a screw inside the body tube, remove the stock, install new stock.

Take some time one evening, search through both this site and others online to see if you can find all the answers you need. Mechbox.com will help alot though.

A quick reminder, be wary of ordering some parts from out of country as sometimes Canadian border services may seize them,

Just to make sure when you order this gun you'll be ordering it from Canada (007airsoft.com, AASURPLUS.CA) not the USA ( AirsoftGI = USA ) ?

Hey newbie friendly means it's easy to take apart, not alot of maintence, easy to use etc. Not sure about DR'S list. Anyways when ordering parts from airsoftgi.com you might get a taxed from customs which could be big or small so be prepared.

Or simpler yet: play with the gun for a full season before thinking about upgrades? There's no reason at all why you should need an upgraded gun when you start.
You dont know what to do yet, you dont know what to spend on (and why), and the other players often really dont like a brand new guy with zero experience and a hot gun. It's simply not safe.

After a season, trust me, you'll know exactly what you need and most likely how to install it yourself.

Newbie-friendly: A solid gun that doesn't need to be repaired every other game to keep it running.

Stay out of the mechbox for a while, you don't need to upgrade anything at first.

Go to a game, meet people, through that network you'll meet gun doctors.
