AK slanty flashider
UPDATE!! So i got the recoil pad in teh back and took a crap ton of pictures. ....Now i kinda want to get a GP25 grenade launcher....
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So there you go, the old post is below: So i finally got that ak74 flashider adapter off my VFC ak, which only required a scary amount of torque (i really want to know what threadlock they use) So anyway, I decided to go with a diff look time being, and thought id post it up if anyone decides this is also the look for them. ![]() ![]() I'm planning to get a rubber recoil pad sometime to even out the look of the rear end... anyone willing to sell me one? Oh yea, and heres my p90 with my eotech. It's so small and adorable. ![]()

Very nice AK. Personally, I like the 'off' look that the hollow stock has to it, kinda sets it apart from the rest while still keeping the AK spirit.

Yay I just got one of these slanted flash hiders as well.
Off look? AKS-74 and AKS-74U use these stocks.

That VFC is a beaut, man. Set you back a pretty penny no doubt.
The slant cut muzzle device makes any AK look good, I think. Its not a flash hider though.

Muzzle break? Isn't a muzzle break's purpose to disperse, or cause turbulence in the gas , thus diminishing muzzle flash?
Gah, if that didn't make sense, let me know. I'm very tired, and don't knwo what I'm talking about. ![]() |

A muzzle brake is designed to reduce recoil.

The AK-47 had a tendacy to have a lot of muzzle climb on full auto. It would climb up and to the right. On the improved AKM, the muzzle break was designed to direct the gases in that direction, driving the muzzle down and to the left. This helped keep the weapon on target.
Generally speaking, none of the Russian assault rifles have 'flash hiders' in the way that Western weapons do.

It's actually designed to reduce climb, not recoil. Recoil is determined by just the operating system of the gun, and the load you're firing.
Also, in my defence, I had just gotten off a long shift, and was dead tired. HAH. Now I know why you like AKs soo much. Definitely one of the most lefty-friendly (no pun intended) weapons around. |
