WE P14 Para-Ordnance 1911
I haven't seen many reviews about this particular gun. The million dollar question. How good is it?

I had one about 3 years ago, heavy gun, nice sharp blow back, shot hard and straight, the only thing I didn't like was it was a gas hog. Filled it with gas, loaded the bb's and it would run out of gas on the last shot everytime.

I heard that the WE 1911 is compatible with TM parts. Is this true?

As far as I know they are, never actually tried, once I saw how much gas I was going threw I got rid of it and went to a NBB, I prefer 75-100 shots per fill compared to 25.

Yeah I don't care too much about gas consumption. I am seeking a well built metal pistol that will last me for a long time. Would you recommend it?

Just to note though the TM 1911 also suffers from gas problems but it's due to the very small gas reservoir, not poor gas consumption. |

I'm pretty sure the WE P14 has only been out for 3 months, not 3 years. Maybe you're thinking KJW?

So this pistol has only been out for 3 months? Does that mean that it must have a ton of flaws and I should wait until they perfect it? |

I've also been wondering about the recent quality of WE (not the P14 to be exact). Most of the reviews I've found are greying and some of the inherent WE problems (components not fitting snuggly, the infamous hammer/slide issue, etc) may have been fixed in the latter versions. Anyone have any comments on the quality of recent WE?
(Serisouly, a full metal GBB for the price of a TM? It's both hard to take seriously and hard to resist looking deeper into it)

Quick review of my experience with the WE 1911 with markings.
It looks great, comfortable to grip and had the hardest blowback of any of my pistols yet (KSC Glock 18C, HFC Beretta M190 select fire and WE 1911). Not to impressed on the quality of the metal. I slapped in a mag and a chunk at the end of the slide flew off. Who knows what happened there, but it pissed me off as it was only about a week old. Also, it really aggravated me that I could only get about 7-10 shots off before the gas was spent. Weird thing is, I hear about cool down affect and how this decreases the amount of shots. Well I'm a little confused on this because if I was just starting out with a warm mag and gassed it up, that's when I would only get about 7-10 shots. After an immediate regas I could go throught the whole mag +. If I recall correctly, on the third gas up I squeezed out 32 shots. Shooting all 15 in the mag and then holding down the slide lock and firing until it wouldn't fire no more. Take this for what it's worth. Just my experience. Derek |

Don't load gas into warm mags, load gas into cold mags and warm them up afterwards. Warming the mags before hand decreases the amount of gas you actually load. Warming the can is ok, though, provided you only bring it to warm and not hot.

Ok everyone, I was searching exhaustively for more WE P14 reviews. I found this review on Airsoft GI written by A. WAWRZYNIAK on August 18, 2007:
"Okay, before I had some malfunctions with this gun, it was great. With the hop-up well adj...more>> usted and using Airsoft Elite .25g BB's, I was getting 1ft. groupings at around 100 ft. away from the target. This was, BEFORE, It decided to act up. After only about 20 magazines put through, it broke down. The slide gets stuck in the locked position, the hammer refuses to lock back, and the tiny nozzle that connects to the 12gram CO2 cartridge inside the magazine is bent (because at some point someone didn't PERFECTLY align the cartridge and screw it in slowly. I talked about my experiences with it on an online airsoft forum, and someone posted some simple directions to fix it (maybe they will work). Such an amazing GBB when it WORKED. I still have to recommend it because its performance is amazing for a GBB, but be warned, this thing can go from great to heartbreaking in a second. Luckily, the gun that malfunctioned was my brother's. I'm still going to pick one up someday, and hope to god It doesn't spaz on me like my Bro's did, I'm hoping he just got a lemon. Hoping REAL HARD." So, what do you guys think? Right now, I am starting to lean toward getting a HFC M190. These reviews are shaking my confidence. Quote:

If you're really looking for a metal Para, consider KJW.

If you're a gamer and not just a basement plinker/collector, I would highly recomend the hfc beretta M190 over the WE 1911 anyday. As nice as the 1911 looks ( I personally love it ) I wouldn't trust it in a tight situation if you run out of ammo or your battery dies on your AEG. You've got a larger mag capacity that will actually empty the mag reliably on a gas charge and you've always got that full auto option if you need to spray and pray/flee. Also, my beretta feels like a tank. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I hear KJ's are made of weaker metals. Just to point this out to you, my trigger spring broke on my beretta a couple weeks in of owning it. Quick and easy fix though. I made my own spring to replace it and to be honest it feels even better than when I got it. A little more tense. Initially the trigger pull felt a little weak/light. I don't know if I described that right. Anyhoo, if you want a pistol with the correct markings go WE. If that means nothing to you and you just want a workhorse get the HFC.
