No, it's not. Peak chargers built for Ni-MH have to be much more sensitive to that certain chemistry peak, as it's not as prominent as Ni-Cad.

Ah. I see. I was also just assuming he meant dumb charger, cause he said wall charger.

Good call. I didn't pick that up. I'm not familiar enough with the two chemistries to be able to say whether a wall wart dumb charger can differentiate between the two chemistries or if it even needs to.

I just know that charging Ni-MH batteries with a dumb charger isn't usually recommended, usually because those chargers take so long, that they're left for overnight... and eventually, some way, somehow, the owner is going to forget to unplug the charger when it's time. Ni-MH cells are much less forgiving to overcharging and overheating than Ni-Cd cells are.

You can use a Ni-Mh charger to charge a Ni-Cd battery no problem. It will not damage the battery, or partially charge the pack.

The reverse is not recommended, but you won't end in killing you pack after let's say 1 year because of that.

The highest I found so far in Ni-Cd mini was 700mAh. Better off getting a nice little Ni-Mh charger for 50$ and a 1400mAh Ni-Mh battery.
